We attended my Nanas wake at The Three Trees in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 following her funeral on the same day. During a conversation with one of your staff members upon booking, we were told that they would provide a "very generous buffet" on their premises for the "Beech" buffet menu option (for 25 people) |took her words in faith and trusted that this would be true, only to be extremely disappointed upon arrival. While everything that was listed in this option was provided, we all agreed that the quantity did not reflect the "very generous buffet" which we were promised. As you can understand, this was an extremely stressful day for the entire family and we came to your establishment hoping to find comfort and a place were we could find some calm following 9 months of my Nanas battle after suffering a sever and heartbreaking stroke. Everything else on the day had gone smoothly as the service providers met us with grace and kept their promises in this difficult time in what we requested for the funeral. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for The Three Trees. What we received can only be described as a poor level of service and taking advantage of those in a very difficult time and extremely vulnerable position. It was not worth £370 we paid at all. I would strongly encourage you to revise this service provided and take a more honest approach to how much is provided as I have heard similar complaints from other customers following our experience there.

Excellent food, service, and portion control. We were greater on arrival and resigned a more suitable table for our needs without hesitation. The drinks order was promptly taken and we were guided to the Carvery without undue delay. The meat options were turkey, gammon, beef. I opted to upgrade for £1.95 and had both gammon and beef (which is also a second Yorkshire, sausage and stuffing). There was ample roast potatoes and 4 different veg plus mash . As much gravy and relish/sauce as you required. There was a check back several times to confirm that all was OK. The only gripe I have is a pint of diet coke is £3.85 but arrives in a smaller glass! With this exception, I thoroughly recommend the restaurant and the experience.

We had an afternoon Tea for 2 at the Three Trees. We couldn't possibly have eaten it all! The sandwiches were plentiful in variety containing meat from the carvery. The cakes were delicious and moist. The scones were homemade and wonderfully warm too! We were served by Hollie who was incredibly attentive, her customer service was great! We called up to see if we could come in sooner than we had booked. They were absolutely fine with this and had it all laid out beautifully upon arrival. Would definitely come again.

Came here today at 2.30pm with family for Sunday lunch. It was extremely busy and car park was full but lots of people coming and going so only had to wait a few minutes for a parking space. We arrived 10 mins prior to our reservation time but were kindly seated as there was no where else to sit around the bar area. All 4 of us opted for the carvery and I have to say that we were all a bit underwhelmed today. The Yorkshire pudding was cold, squashed flat and a bit soggy, the sage stuffing balls were undercooked as were the carrots and swede, the cabbage was cold, the mint sauce was watered right down, the meats however were tender and delicious and the roast potatoes were also very tasty. I covered my vegetables and Yorkshire pudding in gravy so they weren't cold to eat! I think it is 'pot luck' with the carvery especially when it's as busy as it was today and had we have booked a table earlier or a bit later, we may have got fresh/hot food. I really have mixed feelings about this restaurant as I have eaten here frequently over the years and generally always had a good experience. The staff are really polite, professional and most welcoming, the ambience and decor are perfect, and I really do like coming here but I didn't feel it was worth the £10.95 per head today, when i had a carvery at the Pear Tree Bridge last week for only £4.99 and really enjoyed it! I only want to write this review to give constructive feedback- not to paint this restaurant in a negative light as I think this is a wonderful little gem of a place having seen it go from a run down old pub to a thriving restaurant that caters for everyone. If you're going to charge £10.95 for a carvery then please make sure it's worth the money as today we would have been better off ordering from the á la carte menu or going elsewhere.

  • EDIT/UPDATE (12/01/20) *

Following my previous review and subsequent communication with the manager, I am delighted to report that we were kindly invited back for a carvery today and all our expectations were met if not exceeded. The carvery was absolutely delicious and piping hot. The meats especially were so tender and melted in the mouth, and all the accompanying vegetables and trimmings were equally delicious. Credit where credit's due as my previous review and comments were taken on board rather than being fobbed off with excuses. First class customer service goes a long way in my opinion and I hope The Three Trees continues to thrive and be successful and I look forward to returning time and time again. Well done...

This is our local pub, we haven't been in a while because moneys been tight, but decided to treat ourselves tonight since it was such a beautiful day, and we fancied sitting in the garden with a cold beer and some food. Arrived and had to wait some time to be greeted, we're pointed to the Garden and told to order at the bar (first sign that they were perhaps understaffed), ordered some drinks and had a read of the menu, nothing too egregious so far other than slow service. I settled on a Burger and my Wife settle on a cottage pie with Mash. I went to the bar to order, and sitting on the bar, was the remains or two orders that hand been cleaned up. Both were burgers, neither looked very appertising, one had had about 3 mouthfuls out of it, the other, just one, and it had clearly been rejected, as all the sides were still present. I asked the lady at the bar (when she appeared) what was wong with those burgers, and she hadn't seen them so was unable to comment. I decided on the spot to change my order the salmon, which I've had many times before. Paid and went back to our seat. In fairness the food wasn't a long wait, however, they brought my wifes pie out with chunky chips, and not mash. They rushed off to fix this but it was a good half way into her pie before the mash arrived. The pie was ok, but my salmon was very disappointing. Normally the skin is wounderfully crispy on top, this time, it wasn't, not in the slightest, and the veg was limp and soft, looking verymuch like it had come from old carvery stock. The food was just very mediocre and edible. (£47 is a lot to spend for mediocre)

This place has been our go-to for a long time, we bring friends and relatives from far and wide, but recently mistakes and drops in qaulity have crept in, but tonights was the worse yet. I hope they find their form as when they're at their best, the food is to die for, but that seems to have been lost. I'll be steering clear for a while, plenty of places around the area that still put love into their food.

(Update: after a day or two, the owners reached out and ask me to contact them to discuss, good sign I thought… so I emailed them back, stating I was happy to discuss if it would help them rectify their issues. 2 weeks down the road and they’ve since ignored me, so clearly not sincere....
