This had been a favourite remote-working spot of mine, on the few occasions that I'd be down visiting family and need to work. I'd buy breakfast, lunch, and a couple of coffees and pastries throughout the morning, sit by the window and mind my own business.

I was quite disappointed this time to see an angry and unwelcoming NO LAPTOPS sign in the window. So I'm back on the sofa, not buying anything at all. I fully understand the frustration of customers buying one small coffee then spreading out at a four-person table with their laptop for hours, using up precious space and eating into the cafe's delicate margins, but a blanket policy also excludes more conscientious people who are happy to pay for their time and space in coffee and pastry sales. A wonderful warm and welcoming café, serving the best coffee and hot chocolate around, with delightful homemade cakes and a fantastic breakfast & lunch menu. Fresh, local produce is used, and the owners have clearly made such an effort to source the best ingredients, especially the coffee, which I believe is a local brand. My Dad is a coffee lover and was so impressed. I had a hot chocolate, made with proper chocolate flakes which made for one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had!

Oh my goodness. My partner and I stopped here after our walk, and had a delicious breakfast and then a slice of their carrot cake. It was made by one of the owners, and was the most amazing cake I’ve ever tasted! I went inside and asked who had made it, as I wanted them to live with me. It was spectacular!! And the two gentleman who own the place are sooo friendly, welcoming and easy going ☺️ Immediately loved them both! Also, the cake was Vegan. Not that it matters, but you wouldn’t have known!
