I recently stayed at The Tavistock Hotel & Inn, and it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in was quick and efficient, and I immediately felt at ease in the beautifully maintained lobby, which strikes a perfect balance between classic charm and modern comfort.
My room was spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and I appreciated the small details — fresh linens, quality toiletries, and a well-stocked tea and coffee station. The housekeeping team deserves special mention for their attention to detail throughout my stay.
Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was another highlight. The menu offered a variety of delicious, locally sourced dishes, and breakfast was outstanding — fresh, hearty, and served with a smile. The bar area provided a relaxed setting to unwind in the evening, with a good selection of wines and cocktails.
Location-wise, The Tavistock Hotel & Inn couldn’t be better. It’s conveniently situated near key attractions, shops, and public transport, yet it remains peaceful and quiet — ideal for both leisure and business travelers.
Overall, I can’t recommend The Tavistock Hotel & Inn highly enough. The combination of excellent service, comfort, and atmosphere makes it a standout choice. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreI would highly recommend the Travistock hotel and Inn. My friend and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights while we walked the West Devon Way and used the hotel as our base. The bus transport links are great and close to the hotel. If you would like to do this walk, this hotel would make an ideal base and you can use the No 118 and No 1 bus to take you to the start and finish points. The hotel and staff are all great people and really looked after us. The rooms were lovely and large with very comfortable beds and ensuite. The hotel has been refurbished by the present owner Nathan. He is a really nice and attentive person. James the cooked made us lovely breakfasts in the morning to start our long walks and day, nothing was too much trouble. Michelle, the house keeper, also took great care of us. We had dinner at the hotel as well and the food was reasonably priced and was delicious (would recommend to eat here as well). So if you are looking for a great place to stay in Tavistok Devon this hotel is highly recommended. The hotel is right in the centre of town so ideal for everything and there is...
Read moreA group of us went there for food we all ordered food from the menu from £ 8.50 upwards the day before we went there. On the night the food was served to all seven of us. I had curry. The size of the curry was only big enough for my eight year old, had only three pieces of chicken in it and was bulked up with lot's of chick peas. When we complained that we were paying £8.50 for the meal that was so small. The owner did not say sorry, but said he was told when we ordered, that we were all old lady's and would like very small meals, we were horrified. And that we were all paying £6.50 for them. We then said we would try the desserts. I ordered baileys and chocolate cheesecake which cost me £4.50 again it was tiny and as for the baileys, there was none. The owner never came near our table again and sent the waitress over each time. We as a large group who go out on a regular basis will not be using this pub again for our meals. I was that hungry I had to have something to eat when I got home. Will not be recommending this...
