Rockmount Rooms-B and B Hotel Tavistock — Hotel in West Devon

I wasn't planning on staying in Tavistock last night but i'm glad I did.||Following an unfortunate incident with my vehicle I was looking for somewhere to stay in Tavistock overnight.|I spent the evening at the comedy night next door at the Malthouse and the staff suggested I stay at RockMount for the evening, the manager of the RockMount went above and beyond to make sure there was a room available for me at the last minute.|The entrance was just up a small hill from the Malthouse and a small side door and staircase lead me to my room.||The Room was lovely and presented to a very high standard. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great nights sleep.|The en-suite was of a nice size and the coffee making facilities were great.||I checked out early in the morning and was amazed to see that it was next to a huge viaduct, I can't believe I didn't see this the night before. :)||Ultimately if I was staying in Tavistock for a week I'd still be really happy with this room. My wife and I stay at the rockmount hotel back in July 2020. We dealt with tony the owner who couldn’t have been a nicer more welcoming host. We were in the garden suite which is a “dog friendly room” which felt more boutique than anything. It was beautifully decorated, had all of the amenities you could need and the all important outside private area for us to let Louis out when necessary. Unfortunately the restaurant/bar/terrace wasn’t quite finished during our stay, but having been shown around by Tony, we will have to book again as it looked incredible, and would’ve looked at home in any of the swankiest hotels around the country. Nous avons séjourné au mois de mai dans le studio.||L'accueil de Tony a été très agréable. Le frigo était plein à notre arrivée pour le petit déjeuner.||Le studio est très joli. On s'est senti hors du monde.||Le seul petit hic était qu'il était convenu que le ménage soit fait tous les jours (serviettes changées, draps également). Hors ça n'a pas été le cas. Nous sommes un jeune couple (c'était pour notre premier anniversaire de mariage) et nous avons du "embêter" Tony pour avoir des serviettes propres. Rien de bien grave. Certes le four n'était pas nettoyé (vu le prix pour nous de la location...) et nous avons trouvé un morceau de gâteau sous le lit... Nous avons eu aussi deux jours de douche froide. Tony nous a proposé une autre chambre libre pour se laver mais on avait réservé le studio et changer de chambre était un peu "embêtant".||Voilà pour le petit bémol; mais c'est un endroit paradisiaque; avec Tony, hôte très serviable.||Bon, certes, à chaque fois qu'on allait le voir pour ces petits problèmes d'intendance, on rigolait car il ouvrait toujours la porte de l'accueil avec toujours exactement le même sourire. Presque un sketch à la "Mr Beans".||A déconseiller les chambres du bas pour leur manque d'intimité.||Par contre celles du haut ou le studio que nous avions loué (malgré le gâteau sous le lit et le four sale) sont un vrai coup de coeur.||On y retournera avec plaisir.||La nostalgie de ne plus être là-bas va nous faire revenir de nouveau.||Tony est très serviable.
