Called in today after the remembrance parade. Had my partner and small dog with me. Would have normally called at the tea set however, they were full with people even queueing for a table. Wish I'd queued 😠
Normally at the tea set I can take my small dog in (they welcome them) but with cafe Nero they don't allow. No reason apart from it's not cafe Nero policy. Now I could understand if they were going to make a mess, or weren't house trained or aggressive, but the fact the cafe is already a mess with tables not cleared clearly means to me that they just don't care about our four legged friends. When I call at the tea set some 300yds further up in always welcomed and so is my four legged companion, and I regularly spend nearly £20 when I do. Today my partner went in to cafe Nero and purchased 2 mochas and 3 of the smallest bite-size cakes imaginable, all for nearly £10. The cakes were mediocre, dry and poor, and the mochas were the worst I've ever had, and where did we drink them, outside in the cold because of an outdated policy. Dogs are allowed in restaurants and cafes as long as the remain on the ground and not the furniture (I ran a successful outlet for a large food out outlet). The amount of mess and disruption they are liable to make is far than many children you see in coffee houses. This outlet is in a village where many people take there dogs and cafe Nero is alienating all those potential customers. There's no sign on the door to say dogs aren't allowed, it's the management's decision.
Will I call again, no. Are cafe Nero worth the money, no. Pitiful...
Read morePoor staff member with bad attitude. I am not familar with Nero i prefer costa. However, i queued afew minutes to have a staff member with a right miserable face serve me. I asked for a juice and she said there is loads at the fridge made up? What if i want a fresh one? How long do they sit there?. So i had to walk over to the fridge after queuing all gone. Why couldnt she just have quickily looked or staff keep a note what they have. Doesnt like her job obviously, too much trouble!!!! I then didnt feel comfortable asking whether it had milk in it, everything was far too much trouble. When i went to pay the card machine showed my pin number up on screen. She wasnt very helpful. Why dont you do contactless....if i wanted to do contactless i would of......dont tell me what to do.....arent you supposed to be the helpful one???I do that for security purposes in places im unfamilar with..she clearly needs training. Out of the situation id of said if i was her, dont worry its not done a transaction just remove and start again. Where is her customer service.??? Upon this i snatched the receipt off her and huffed and didnt drink it. Her face of disgust.....if you were doing a proper job!!!! I wouldnt be...
Read moreThe only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I feel sad for an employee there who appears to not be happy in her job and, as much as I love Caffe Nero, it makes me feel awkward being there. I do appreciate that she is busy and that she works hard of course, but on a few visits she has served me and whilst ordering I get "in or out" in a loud voice, "It's really busy", "we're short staffed, "I came from Banbury to help here", I want to leave early" and other hints that she is not happy. May I suggest that comments are said so that customers cannot hear. I hope she enjoys her job soon and I wish her well as it's such a lovely place and there are nice people who go there, and the staff who work there are really pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Lynda served me recently and she could not have been more helpful and polite. Thank you to the happy staff who make me...
