KFC Bury St Edmunds - Parkway Leisure — Restaurant in West Suffolk

First things first, I like KFC far more than I should. So I've been to many branches and recognise that the franchise model results in huge variation in quality between them. And I can safely say that the Bury St Edmunds branch is by far the worst KFC I've ever had the displeasure of eating in. Food took forever, which at least gave me time to clean the tables which apparently hadn't been cleaned for a few hours. There was rubbish all over the floor. When the food did arrive, they'd missed off half the order. When I asked where it was there was no apology or even recognition of an issue, the server just silently plucked the missing items from behind her and tossed them onto my tray. I ordered two hot wings, one of which was about the size of a 50p piece. I asked if it was a joke and this was received very poorly. The server went out the back and returned with two larger yet still oddly small wings, saying "they're the biggest we have". My Zinger tower burger was so hastily assembled that the mayo was along only one edge of the bun. Chips were cold and soggy. Just an overwhelmingly bad experience. Avoid this branch...

By far the worst KFC I have been to and unfortunately this is the only one in my town. The place is filthy to the point where you genuinely can’t sit down and eat. Every table out of the 12/13 tables in there were covered in food or had food under the tables. Theres chicken bones under the tables. The staff do not clean the tables, despite being stood behind the counter doing nothing. We went and there was only 4 other customers eating so the place was categorically empty. Yet they still stood behind the counter chatting to the people in the kitchen, laughing and screaming whilst every single table in there was covered in trays and food. Watched the young worker empty both bins and serve food without even washing her hands. There was 3 of us and we all ordered at the same time yet one of our parties meal got completely missed as they were only focused on delivery orders. Edit: Since the review below I've purchased food form this place twice, because my partner wanted KFC. I no longer consider myself a client. On 29.01.2025, I ordered my usual, Wicked variety 6 piece, to which I usually add 2x hot wings extras. That makes a total of 24 hot wings, 6 main pieces and 4 strips. This time they left out the main pieces and the strips!!! When I collected my order, I checked and pointed out that there were missing bits and I was told they placed everything in the bucket. I was thinking those must be some really small pieces to fit in there, but I accepted that and left. Disgusting service, reconfirmed, so this is the 4th time and probably the worst of them all. So, I can't stress enough: Always check if your order is complete, especially on larger orders. They have a habit of leaving things out, and I'm not saying it's necessarily on purpose. It's the 3rd time this happened to me, usually missing one piece or two, but this time I had to write a review because they left out a full bag of 8 hot wings...
