I feel awful, I went to you guys in Bury St Edmunds. We forked out Ā£50 for our meal and it didn’t feel worth it. (Ā£50 is a lot for us!) I chose the chicken burger and added a few extra like bacon and guacamole. Walked away unsatisfied with the meal in consideration to how much it cost. Fast forward a few hours I’m projectile vomiting and using the toilet every 10/20 minutes or so. The worst tummy pains ever. I had to call in sick to my shift (Sunday 8-7) and because of the situation I’m also not allowed in Monday either! Now that means not only have I spent Ā£50 on a meal that wasn’t great and has left me with food poisoning but I’m now two days down in pay from my job as I don’t get Sick pay!!! Meaning I’m now down Ā£264 and the extra Ā£52.40 making the grand total Ā£316.40 So it was the most expensive meal I’ve ever brought and that’s a massive chunk out of our earnings as a young couple! Will not be eating here again. Edit: I’m yet to hear back from you regarding my email.

Great Food, I recommend it! We’ve been here a few times but not for a couple of years. The food was delicious, my wife and I both ordered the same (buttermilk chicken burger & fries). The chicken was soft and the coating nice and crispy. Very tasty. Our experience was very good, we hadn’t booked, no issue on Friday afternoon (5pm). Friendly staff. You can see that the burgers use real meat, NOT processed meat. The smell walking past is lovely, unlike some burger places that smell like a fat factory. Anyway, I highly recommend Byron in Bury St Edmunds!

What an absolutely great place to eat. Me and the wife popped in last night, didn't have a booking, but it was not a problem. We both had naked cheeseburger (much more healthy with the salad. Side orders of cheese and bacon fries and fried onion rings. It was excellent served hot and couldn't fault it šŸ˜‹. Excellent friendly service and a great atmosphere with a full restaurant. Only the second time I had dined at Byron's, would definitely be going back. Highly recommended šŸ‘Œ

The front of house staff are very efficient and friendly and the food was very nice.

I personally think its a bit over rated and the pricing is also extortionate. It cost £12 for a standard burger with no chips or drink included! £12 just for beef in-between a bun

I ordered a byron burger with fries and a bottle of diet coke (diet coke was a tiny bottle and cost £3) ... mine totaled £18 just for a burger, fries and drink even though if says on the menu at lunch you can get all that for £12.99 between 12-2 Mon-Thurs. When I asked the waitress she said "oh we aren't doing that today" despite it being 1pm on a Thursday ?

When I got home my banking app told me I'd gone overdrawn so I checked and they had charged me £28 meaning now my bank was charging me for everyday I was overdrawn until I got payed by my work. I quickly contacted byron to tell them there was a mistake and asked if I could be refunded £10 so I wasn't overdrawn anymore. Got a series of emails claiming no card payments for £28 were taken on that day and that none of the front of house team had said they'd accidentally taken too much so basically Thomas, one of the managers, thought I was lying.

I responded saying I was happy to provide evidence and show the card transaction and its been 6 days with still no reply. I won't be back, its a shame as I did like it as a once in a while treat but after being overcharged then distrusted and ignored I feel very disappointed and cheated

Update: Contacted Byron team 4 months ago and apparently they are "still chasing up the issue"... at this point I don't even want my money back, I've already had to pay the bank for going over drawn so it's more a matter of principle now... My last email from the team was on July 6th and its now August?? This company is just a joke. Overcharge you for food then ignore you and call you a lier when you complain.

I've worked in hospitality for nearly 8 years and wouldn't in a million years dream of treating a customer how I've been treated....

The experience I had at this restaurant was appalling. I show up expecting a nice meal with my friend and daughter outside. The waiter came to serve us, offering us menus and then my friend asks for an ashtray and the waiter said she would get one for us once she took our orders. Not a minute later, another waiter passing by who was serving a different table told us that we are not allowed to smoke outside. We stopped her and asked why, she then told us that she won’t bring us an ashtray because we aren’t allowed to smoke, we asked how come we’re not allowed to smoke since the waiter told us she’d bring us an ashtray. We asked to see a manager, she replied that she’s the manager and that we don’t have a right to be smoking in the outside premises. My friend asked to see the company policy, but they failed to show us where it says that we cannot smoke whilst being outside at the restaurant. Why would they have ashtrays if supposedly there was no smoking allowed? Moments later the main manager, Sarah Bunnage, raises her voice telling us that she cancelled our food order and that we have to leave the premises otherwise she’ll the phone the police.

Monday just gone, I go there for lunch with my friend, no problems, ate my food and smoked. I go there today again with my friends to get some food and drinks and I get humiliated in front of everybody by whoever was in charge that I was banned from the premises. I asked what were the reasons and why wasn’t I informed, he couldn’t explain. He just informed me that his manager, Sarah, had told him that I was banned. Remove this ban immediately, I never swore at anybody, I haven’t harmed anybody and there weren’t any threats. I was just another customer, who smokes and wanted dinner with friends and my daughter. This is the first time I’ve met such an unpleasant manager, and...

The food generally wasn’t bad. The burger itself was nice however I felt that it just wasn’t seasoned very much and had almost 0 flavour (five guys is much more tasty). I ordered the mac and cheese, which was really good, I ordered the sweet potato fries, which again were good but far too oily it made me feel a bit sick, and the coleslaw, which was great. Price wise the food was over expensive I thought. Compared to someone on our table who ordered the kids burger, I didn’t get a lot for my money. The kids meal was Ā£11 ish and they had the same amount of sweet potato fries as me, it came with a drink and a burger too. A little bit bad as my burger was Ā£15 and didn’t have barely any toppings inside and I had to pay for fries separately. I liked the idea of the QR codes so we could order the food through their website directly to our table, however a non removable service charge on top of the already expensive food was added on before we had even eaten anything. Service charges normally are paid at the end of the meal, so paying for one without choice at the start isn’t a good look. The milkshakes have hit a new time low, as I remember coming in after a day at college and there was giant milkshakes which the option to add Malt and various other flavours too, so a bit disappointed that they stopped something that I remembered to be a selling point. Other than that, it was very stuffy in there and a bit hot. I’m guessing that because it’s an open kitchen and no one is more than about 4 metres from the hot pans. Maybe better air con? Maybe Byron’s are going downhill? Who knows but the Norwich branch has permanently closed and, sadly, I predict Bury isn’t...
