Slim Chickens — Restaurant in West Suffolk

Very good food and quick service; pretty much every time l visit - I regularly eat here.

A few times I must admit where I've missed out an item or two with my order, however waste of my time to dispute over a couple of quid.

But yesterday I did receive poor customer service from the front office staff, despite being a very quiet period of time for them. Ordered through the app and collected few minutes late to my scheduled time and did call to remind them and ensure I was still coming (this is my own fault). However, when l had come to collect my order I did find it very disrespectful receiving a bit of attitude when I had asked politely where my drink was, as it was not clear and had not been mentioned?

On top of this, I was given a bag and was asked to check myself if it was my order, despite giving the employee my order number and name. Luckily it was my order but employee didn't even bother to check themselves - it was like I was doing their job for a second!

As I say, the place wasn't busy at all so there wasn't a valid reason to be rude to customers.

Finally, as I left, I received death stares from the same employee.

I have nothing against the brand or food but questionable customer service for a very loyal and regular customer, which isn't great for business and...

Used to order from here and eat here regularly when they first opened, was great back then and was nice to finally have a good chicken shop in the town. Considering it’s a chain, we assumed standards would always be high. How wrong we were!

After a few months this place went down the drain. One order of over £50 was completely inedible, all of the chicken had a funny smell and taste, from the burger, to the wings, everything got thrown away. We didn’t mention it back then as it felt a waste of time complaining, instead we decided to never order from here again!

Fast forward to today, we fancied a treat and I saw the reviews for Slim Chickens appeared to have improved, we like the fried onions so we thought we’d give them another chance. The chicken has definitely improved, but from another £50 order they forgot 2 items. If you ring the store to chase, there’s no answer, and no chance of speaking with anyone through email either to get a refund for the missing items.

Won’t be back. Waste of calories, waste of money, it’s a shame as we were really excited when they came to town but have been left thoroughly...

So I’ve been 3 times now, on the opening day and twice since, as I wanted to leave a review that properly reflected the restaurant.

We ordered chicken wings, tenders and also burgers. The chicken wings were on the dry and a little salty each time and didn’t really have that much meat on them. The sauces did help improve.

The chicken tenders was the highlight and saved it from a 1 star review. It was juicy and crispy and really enjoyed them.

The burgers chicken fillet was nice , a little small but was fresh, the bun was stone cold and you could tell the burger was put together in a rushed way as not even the cheese had a chance to melt.

On two occasions the chips were not fresh and warm, even a little cold.

And lastly, the hygiene, the toilets are not maintained and table tops not cleaned either time we went. I tried to clean it with the kitchen towel on the table but it was so sticky that the tissue got stuck. Staff clearly not cleaning and focused just on delivering the food.

Overall, has potential but so far it’s been a below...
