After eating here about four times on different occasions, I am now ready for my review. I have dined in and ordered takeout. Now before I begin I haven't had all the dishes on the menu (If I get sponsored, then I will gladly do it 😂) but if you like spicy, don't eat a lot or just looking for something when there are several options this is the place. Also, I can't speak for the alcoholic drinks on the menu but the lemonade and mocktails are refreshing. Starting with the starters, I give it a 10 out of 10 (I've had most of the starters on the menu and I highly recommend the bao buns). For the main, I give it a 6 out of 10. There's lots of room for improvement. I find that the broth for the noodles needs more flavor and seasoning and most of the other dishes needs a little more salt or bouillon cude or MSG. It gets packed during the weekend but it is a chill atmosphere on weekdays and it is vegetarian/vegan friendly (tons of options for both and they allow substitutions) Overall I'll give it a 7 out of 10.

We received a warm, friendly welcome and were promptly seated at a nice table which our server made ready herself. She gave us great advice about easy payment at the table and then our order was taken by a very nice young man who served our drinks promptly and made sure we were happy with our meals. The food, as always, was delicious and we have absolutely no complaints (we highly recommend the Firecracker Chicken if you like spicy food, and the Chilli Chicken Ramen is a myriad of wonderful flavour. Both dishes were very filling and satisfying. We would return again in a heartbeat. Your guys do a much better job than other chain restaurants in Bury St Edmunds (Pizza Express and Prezzo are both lackadaisical), so very happy with our experience. Cheers.

Had to hit Wagamama up one more time before lockdown. It was my first time going to the one here in bury, but it was just as good as all the others one I've ate at. We were a party of 3 and didnt book ahead and the wait wasn't bad at all. Maybe 10-15 mins at most. They are doing the covid tracking so just hit up the QR code at the entrance. They are doing a limited menu, but still had my favorites. Also no cash is being accepted at the moment. Its cool thag they have dividers up between to the tables to enforce social distancing of people outside your bubble. The staff was great and restaurant was clean. I'll recommend this location if you're in Suffolk.

Ordering in at this restaurant is great!! Foods always fresh and the waiters and cooks have no problem customizing meals. I have rate a 3 because I have ordered over the phone twice for a pick up/take away and both times my meal was either not cooked right or didn’t taste right. The first time I asked for a teriyaki soba no meat. The waiter on the phone said they would have to charge me for the meat even though when I was in the restaurant a few days prior I asked for the same thing and the waiter removed the meat and charged me les. Maybe he was a manager with secret powers I’m not sure but when I asked for it again the new waiter was adamant that he could not fulfill my request and suggest that I order a different meal and have it made teriyaki style. So I complied cause at this point I couldn’t be bothered. I also ordered another teriyaki but with steak. When I went to pick up my order both soba meals didn’t taste right at all. Whatever the waiter put through the till was not what I wanted and the meals came out tasting so bad I just ended up making my own. (I didn’t do this in the first place because I really enjoy wagamamas food.)

The second meal that I actually ordered today I had a similar issue. I requested the teriyaki soba again and he suggested again an all veggie soba but prepped teriyaki style. Again to not cause an issue I said yea that’s fine and proceed to go pick up my meal. I got my food and checked it over and realized my soba wasn’t what I was suggested to order at all. It was a yaki soba prepped like..... a yaki soba. So I kindly said to the young lady at the front I think I was mistake explained the situation and she with a problem had the chefs make me a teriyaki soba no meat. I checked the disk again before I left and seen it was again a yaki soba but it had teriyaki in it. So I said it was ok and left. Once I got home I realized again another issue with my dish. It had egg in it. Now because I ordered over the phone and expressed I wanted a teriyaki soba and the waiter suggest the veggie soba, I didn’t check the ingredients as I was it would be “prepped for the meal I wanted” I am on a strict diet that doesn’t allow me to have eggs meat or any dairy at the moment. So strictly a plant based diet. I feel if you suggest a meal over the phone you should say do you have any allergies or specific requests and I should to be fair ask what is in the dish. But because I was told I’ll have my dish made to my request. Didn’t think to ask. This is the only time that wagamamas has let me down but they did it in such a way that I have to knock them down two stars. Cause now I have a dish I can’t eat and I’ve order a dish in the past that tasted terrible.

Would 100% recommend to eat in restaurant though.

The staff is lovely and the food is good and the place is...

Visited a few times over the last couple of months, as well as today. First of all, the food has always been really good. Except, today when the food turned up at the table it wasn’t exactly hot, just about lukewarm. Secondly, the staff that welcome you to the restaurant are always welcoming, after that it’s obvious the staff are just going through the motions. Today after being seated, a different staff member turned up at the table asking about food allergies which I thought was her being prepared to take the food order when the time came, and she asked what drink I’d like so I said a Diet Coke please. Then a few minutes later the original staff that sat my daughter and I, came back and took the food order and also asked which drink I want. I politely said I’d already ordered a drink, so she went and checked and she came back and said there’s no order for it. So she took the drink order this time. I think it’s really inappropriate for staff in any restaurant to take an order then walk off do nothing but walk around the place doing not much - if you’ve been to Wagamama’s Bury st Edmunds, you’ll know how open planned it is, so you can see everything. Also, paying the bill isn’t easy either. The QR code doesn’t load when scanned and before now, it has taken 15% of phone battery for it then to say payment failed - this has happened on every visit wherever I have sat in the restaurant, it’s not down to how strong the WiFi/signal is depending on where you sit, as we’ve sat in various parts of the restaurant. As on the mobile as I had a strong Wi-Fi connection and good internet/signal connection. On previous visits I have also had to wait well over 20 minutes because of not being able to pay on the QR code.

After today’s experience, I think we’ll be giving the place a miss...
