We had a lovely morning coffee treat here this morning whilst visiting Clare. The cafe/boulangerie is a lovely open space - very nicely decorated in a minimalist fashion - but showing the lovely pastries and bread off really well. I was impressed to hear that all the goods are produced in their own bakery close by and in my estimation were as good as some of the fancier places in St Malo or France in general.

We had a latte and a mocha - lovely strong coffee here, and I had an almond croissant with my husband choosing a so called ‘morning’ pastry filled with creme pat. All in all a lovely experience / friendly atmosphere (you can sit outside too in a small courtyard). There is artisan - OK ‘posh’ bread to buy, along with local honey and delicious looking things.

Whilst not the cheapest treat, you honestly get what you pay for and I would prefer having a coffee and a homemade pastry here than other places where sometimes it is all style over substance.

Definitely recommend. Sausage rolls next...

Amazing Coffee and cinnamon buns. In my opinion, the best in the County! Addendum added 28/2/23, I've had to remove a star. They have reduced the size of the cinnamon buns. I would have preferred if they'd just put their price up. I now feel cheated paying a lot of money for a smaller item. I will visit every 4-6 weeks now instead of every other week. Addendum 4/5/25 - tables not cleaned down in recent visits, crumbs on seats. The bench seats have very thin padding so not comfortable to sit in. Used to have friendly staff that would chat to you, but not so much now as they are too busy talking to other staff. The owners are friendly. Coffee served in paper cup as dishwasher is broken, again! Why can't they just use a sink in the meantime or discount the price! On the up side, coffee is still the best, buns are a...

My first time visiting today after being recommended by lots of friends. OMG been told to go for the amazing cinnamon buns (which were scrumptious) but had the vegan sandwich. Didn't really know what it entailed but was honestly one of the top 5 sandwiches of my life! I'm not even vegan. It was so delicious that have been thinking of it all day and working out when I can come back to Clare for another one. It was the juiciest of Ciabattas that oozed down your chin, filled with generous portion of sun-dried tomatoes, cheese, pesto and rocket. The ciabatta bread was mind-blowing good. Please support this fantastic local small business. You won't...

We wanted to pop out yesterday for a nice coffee and hot chocolate and it was sadly an unpleasant experience - it’s clear at 2pm you are not wanting any more customers - no nice greeting and just told at the door - there’s no food left… to then order a flat white, cappuccino and a hot chocolate to be served 2 flat whites and be told when questioned why I had the same coffee ‘a cappuccino is the same as a flat white’ (?) it’s def not! The hot chocolate was not nice either - a sloppy watery mess! No option to add cream or marshmallows either!!

The pastries here are next level. I'm a pastry nerd, and these are the best I've ever tasted. Beats anything I sampled in Copenhagen last week (the home of the Danish pastry, after all). The laminated 'morning bun' is crazy good - the lamination is so well done, and the levels of butteriness and sweetness are perfect. It's very, very rare to find pastry done as well as this. Coffee also outstanding.
