Food was really good. Had, home made Scotch egg starter, the steak, ale and blue cheese pie served with seasonal veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding (part of Sunday menu) and the Creme Brulee. Highlights were the pie itself lots of steak and a lovely rich flavour and the roast potatoes were excellent, crispy, well seasoned and fluffy inside. 2 local guest cask ales were on from Pumphouse community brewery in nearby Toppesfield (oktoberfest style ale) and from Nethergate brewery in Long Melford ( a red ale for Halloween) Food again is great and worth the price. Staff were friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. Nice to see the pub back open. Will return.

Second visit to The Clumsy Cock, although this was the first time for food. Went with family on a table of four. Food was amazing, staff looked after us very well. After food we moved up to the bar for some more drinks. Great atmosphere. The food was amazing - even took some photos. Definitely try the Blooming Onion !!

Myself and my partner came for the steak night and were not disappointed! Everything cooked and served to perfection! Wonderful atmosphere, fabulous decor, great drinks range and a lovely menu. All round 5 stars!! Would highly recommend and we will be repeat customers.

Wow. We were lucky enough to book a table at the Cock Inn (now called the Clumsy Cock) for a Sunday lunch over their opening wknd. The new team that have taken over have done a lovely job with their refurb with mixing a countryside pub with a modern & yet almost colonial feel. It really works. The lounge area (my favourite) with leather sofas, benefiting from the logburner in what looks originally to be a large edwardian fire place, makes this area particular welcoming. The food! Amazing, 100 fantastic. We had the roast dinner 3 meat sharer for 2, it was excellent and plenty of veg, meat and roast potatoes and the gravey was perfect. To be fair, we had to turn down the delightful desserts as the sharer filled us up! I particularly enjoyed the Localy brewed Nethergate lager before, during and after lunch!! The new owners along with their kitchen & bar team couldn't do enough for us, We've already booked a table for our return this coming wknd and will be going for the sharer again (and the Nethergate) and most importantly we felt we really got a lot for our money and our bill seemed very fair. Well done to all those...

Rachael & Becky of Bar Rumba acclaim have taken their refreshing enterprise to yet another level with this amazing make - over of a historic village pub in beautiful Clare. The love and attention to detail embraces you as soon as you walk through the door. The top quality selection of classic and modern cocktails is impressive, the comforting wholesome menu caters to all, the centrally located island bar promotes social interaction, the music and lighting is uplifting, the cool BoHo style décor gives the space a unique feel and I very much look forward to enjoying the large outdoor garden in the warmer months but no fear the outdoor heating and cosy wooden seating areas provided are much enjoyed so you won't feel like an outsider if you smoke/vape. On my next visit I cannot wait to share a Tomahawk steak - my only request is please bring on the béarnaise or Diane sauce as well as the peppercorn option for those of us with growing gaps between our teeth! In a nutshell, this new venture delivers an all around great night out! Wholeheartedly...
