I grew up attending scouts in the country park and visited more recently. It warms my heart to see the development of this piece of land to realize its full potential with the use of the station buildings for a Cafe and educational displays, some restoration work to the castle ruins and clearing of the mound to better display the ruins. There is a well maintained playground and miles of paths through the woods. There was organized pond dipping when we were...

While there may not be much of Clare Castle left, the stunning views of the town and surrounding countryside make climbing the footpath to the top of the motte well worth while. I visited the castle about 7 years ago, the difference was clear. A lot of time, effort and money has now been invested in this community asset. It's been transformed. Will be back,...

I grew up down the road from here and probably haven’t visited for at least 20 years, but I wanted to get some drone footage. Clare is a beautiful town (village?) and the cafe in the park was amazing too… the big wooden door that you can’t see over is still at the foot of the castle mound..

My first visit... Didn't quite make it up the stairs but that's for next time. Absolutely beautiful. Loved reading all the history. Definitely going back.
