Augustinian Community live here. Regular church services held on Sundays Very well attended and modern form of Roman Catholic Service with modern band Other communal activities held here during the week. Go on the website to find what's on. Beautiful house and grounds Great place to go for a retreat or just a break. Evening meal and breakfast provided if you are booking for a stay. Rooms are modest and can be either in the house or on block Community very welcoming and there is a small library where you can read. The village of Clare is nearby with facilities such as small independent shops, pubs, restaurants, small museum and other service providers

Had this priory on my list for my UK trip. Wanted to make a donation, but the machine was out of order. Quiet surroundings beautiful buildings, and very pink. It's not as pink as the first picture shown. You can't go into the church. People on the premises are friendly and only talk to you when approach them. I understand why people would like to go into a meditation retrait here. There are some benches to sit and contemplate in silence. The whole setting breathes silence and tranquillity. Reasonably well maintained area.

Joan of Acre is buried here at Clare Priory. She was the daughter of Edward I (Hammer of the Scots fame) and his Queen Eleanor. Also buried here is Lionel, Duke of Clarence, the son of Edward III and Philippa of Hainault. Lovely quiet spot. Worth a quick 10 minute visit.

Beautiful peaceful place. Inner peace can be found in the little shrine. The new large Chapel built using some of the old infirmary walls and with a big window onto the garden is again a restful sanctuary. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful and peaceful place with an important and rich history. The modern extension to the parish church is a clever piece of modern architecture.
