Came for dinner on a Wednesday evening shortly after the place opened for dinner. Ambiance was welcoming (we were sat immediately with a smile), music over the sound system was inviting and interesting (many electronica-retooled 80's and 90's pop songs which was perfect for my nostalgia-sentimentality), and parking was not difficult to find. We ordered relatively quickly and had some moments to take in the visuals of the place which add positively to the ambiance. This place has one of the few bathrooms in this area of the UK (been in country for a month) that provides paper towels to dry hands aside from the electric air-blow-dryer (VERY MUCH APPRECIATED). Our appetizer came adequately quickly which was calamari. The greens with the calamari were lovely, the squid was crusted nicely-not-too-thick with a perfect hint of salt and the sauce to dip in was tasty. As with most dishes here in the UK, my American sentimentalities desired larger portioning for the dish. Our main entrees arrived timely where my wife had salmon and I had penne con buffalo. The salmon was exceptional with a thin-crusted char-glaze and moist flesh. The potatoes with the entree were wonderful and the green beans with the entree were crunchy and perfect. The penne pasta was tomato-based with pleasant sauce-to-pasta ratio. Added olives, and bell peppers seemed fresh and flavorful. The buffalo part was buffalo-based cheese which also was flavorful. As with each dish I've had here in UK, I desired a bit larger of a portion. Nonetheless, I was satiated by the size of the portion. For desert, we had a sugarcone Gelato with cappuccino and chocolate scoops. Everything about the meal was lovely. This was far and above the best meal I have had in the UK (month-in-country). I'd recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas in Brandon Bridge on a trip down from Paisley Scotland popped into Valentinoās as it appeared to be the only Restaurant in town open, had a nice meal with my wife and a pleasantly decorated and clean establishment, the serving staff were lovely. Now for the bad news, They point blank REFUSED TO TAKE MY MONEY, have you guessed yet, I only had Scottish notes with me. I thought we were still British and our money was good south of the border, I have recently been down in London area and in Brandon near Ipswich. I was really put out by this stand but the manager would not budge on the issue no matter what I said, I was hoping she would call the police but she just stood there saying she could not take my money to the bank ? And that all other establishments in the town where the same. I went 50 yards down the street to Aldi and they took my money without question, SHAME on you Valentinoās, terrible customer service and discrimination against fellow brits. Just to say I did pay the bill by card on Wednesday before leaving for home again as I just would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt usually review places but feel like I have to review as Iām very impressed at how the staff actually pay attention to the customers. Iāve come 2-3 times before and theyāve remembered my addiction to mango juice and offered me multiple rounds at the start of the meal as I drink it so quickly. They always make sure youāre happy with your food as well and can pick up if youāre in the slightest bit unhappy with your food. Iām autistic and I canāt touch soggy bread without panicking but I also donāt like to speak up due to social anxiety so I was just gonna eat a bunless burger, but one of the staff realised I was probably acting funny over my food and ran over asking if I was alright and if I wanted a new bun. Never had service like this before in any restaurant especially with how busy it was, so Iām very greatful and impressed for how much they actually care for their customers even when itās so busy. Food is amazing and staff and genuinely so friendly. I can probably eat their mango gelato by the...
