La New Belloise transports you to the flavors of Africa with its delicious dishes. For starters, I enjoyed the Sautéed Baby Mushroom with Vegetables which was light and bursting with fresh herb flavors. The Fried Chicken Wings were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy within. If you're looking for something more bold, the Goat Peppersoup packed plenty of herbs with peppers in a rich broth.
For a main, I would highly recommend the Curried Goat. Tender pieces of goat were simmered in an intensely flavored curry sauce that was not overly spicy. It was falling off the bone. Another great option is the Grilled Chicken, marinated in a blend of African spices before being cooked to perfection on the grill. The meat was very moist and flavorful. Perfectly paired with a glass of Kir Royale.
Overall, La New Belloise is an excellent choice for genuine African cuisine in Wigan. The dishes are full of authentic flavors and provide an tasty introduction to the diverse and flavorsome foods from the continent. I would certainly return to try more dishes...
Read moreFirst I'd like to apologise to Emma for taking so long to leave this review. My husband found this restaurant on google while searching for Cameroonian restaurant where we could go to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We took a leap of faith as the name of the restaurant sounded familiar to my town where he grew back home in Cameroon, and WE DO NOT REGRET IT.
The owner Emma is so warm and welcoming, she has on her face the most beautiful smile to welcome all her customers.
She made us feel at home, she offered extra "Beignet" Cameroonian puff puff to my children unpaid, the food was DELICIOUS, the ambiance was on point, and the Toilet was extremely cleaned and well maintained , I assured her that we will come back and we shall.
I 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to experience great taste and saveur from Cameroon (Centra Africa), you won't regret it.
Merci encoree Emma, on...

My husband had the offal Peppersoup and Mbongo Nchobi a traditional dish from Cameroon, the black sauce was so tasty. It’s less than a five minute walk from both train stations. We parked at the train station multi-storey car park. Such a friendly team, we were made to feel very welcome and we have booked again for when we are back in Wigan for a gig at...
