There's nothing wrong with this place, but there's nothing I can really find that's particularly great about it either.
The burgers were nice, the fries were good, and the drinks they have those dispensers with lots of flavours which is always nice. Overall the food was good. If I was doing a review for the food alone it would probably be a 4/5.
Its the justification of the prices I don't understand. I paid a touch short of £30 for lunch for two, the food just isn't worth that alone, yet the experience doesn't make up for the price either. Now if I paid £30 for a nice sit down lunch with table service in a nice environment, I'd be okay with that. But first of all, it's a self service, you pay at the counter, go get your own food, get your own condiments and have to pour your own drink, then the food comes out in a paper bag and disposable wrappings, this just sounds like Burger King right? The room was also cold enough that we didn't even take our coats off.
The image/experience they seem to be going for is budget value American diner, yet the prices are clearly geared more for a nice mid-range restaurant, it just doesn't add up.
Overall I got Burger King experience at Frankie and Benny's prices. Why would I do that when I could either save some cash and get the same experience at Burger King, or spend the same and have a better experience at Frankie and Benny's.
I can't recommend...
Read moreOrdered around 5:50 on a Sunday with less than a dozen people inside.
The past three times to this order have gradually declined in quality. Normally we are not fussed when a topping is missed from a burger or the fries are a bit underdone.
But three burgers, the only two with toppings on having the wrong items, my burger specifically missing its mushrooms and pickles, and tomatoes. The bacon burger missing its lettuce and onions, replacing the HP sauce we ordered for tomato sauce.
Our order was not read back to us, and being used to the good service here, we did not double check our reciept otherwise we would have tried to fix the order.
The fries, which are meant to have a firm outer shell and soft mash potato Centre, were soggy and unappealing, meant to be cooked twice, these were barely dunked the second time from taste alone. They also tasted starchy.
Our buns were squished, and whilst I understand when business is busy and stressful mistakes can happen. whilst there, business was slow relieving them of any excuse as there were plenty of staff
For the first time since this location opened, I will not bear to bring my appetite to five guys until things are back on track, with 4/4 visits being a dissapointment.
I sincerely hope the business improves back to the standard...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at the Five Guys in Whiteley, UK. I ordered a double cheeseburger without bacon (as don’t eat pork ever), but when I opened the bag, it had bacon in it. Mistakes happen — I stayed calm and politely asked for it to be corrected. They made a fresh one, which I appreciated.
However, when I checked that second burger (as my friend suggested), it now had fresh tomato, which I didn’t ask for either. I took it back again, and this time the staff member at the counter gave me a sarcastic and passive-aggressive response — something along the lines of “Well, if you won’t just eat the tomato…” before reluctantly agreeing to make another one. His tone was rude and dismissive, which felt really disrespectful given the situation.
The third burger had no seasoning at all, which felt intentional. It came off as petty, especially after I’d stayed polite throughout the experience.
I understand mistakes happen, but this felt like a lack of care and basic respect — both in terms of my dietary restrictions and customer service. I hope the management addresses this, because this isn’t what I expect from Five Guys Especially when a...
