Lino's Restaurant — Restaurant in Wirral

The style of the restaurant is very traditional, but the service is the best in the Wirral. Greeted at the door, coats taken and a little wit and back chat rather than wooden "Was everything OK with your stater" type comments are more than welcome with me. Those people who see that as a bad thing need to go back to the soulless chain pubs and restaurants they probably prefer.

Onto the food which is definitely up there as some of the best in the Wirral. Always a difficult choice, even on the reasonably priced set menus, then the specials confuse you further. Having been a few times I must say that every dish I have ordered has been decent and a good proportion of them have been exceptional. Portions are plentiful and dessert is normally a little bit of a struggle. They have definitely shrunk in size since the move to the very reasonably priced set menus and I think that was an improvement. That said, I do miss the little taster course they used to have between the starter and the main.

At the end of the dinner it is a little bit of a shame that they only offer good filter coffee rather than a full range. Luckily they more than make up for this with home made chocolate thins. Taxis are called for you at request and you are wished well on your way out.

We were a party of 8 and were well taken care. We started with a drink in the small bar area while we were given menus. It is a wonderful diverse menu with fish , chicken & meat offers for all. The staff was very accommodating as some just wanted a green salad to start and the kitchen produce an excellent array of greens and flavors. My husband loved the rigatoni appetizer. I had the grilled salmon which was fabulous. We all had clean plates as everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
