Lovely little pub in Hoylake! Round the corner from the absolutely beautiful beach and prom and also right in the heart of Hoylake being a ten minute walk from the station! We had beautiful weather and sat in the beer garden for a few, very reasonable prices and really friendly staff! They have a huge beer garden and outdoor space with cover from the rain and a large selection of beers and drinks Definitely recommend if you're passing through as a local, a family, a pub visitor or a cyclist passing through on a lovely ride!

Lovely little pub that only the locals know where it is, but it's worth finding. It's nice and quiet in the afternoon when we call in for a relaxing pint or two or three. Usually a nice selection of real ales and beers. Open fire is welcome in the winter and plenty of outdoor seating in the Summer.

A most welcoming pub. A family member used to come here every Friday night many moons ago. We went yesterday to play darts in the afternoon, had a great time and enjoyed chatting with the locals and the management Jodie. Will be going back again definitely.

Went to 'The Plassies' to support a friend who was performing there that night. For me, the pub has the most character of all Hoylake's watering holes, having mercifully been left unmolested by all who have owned it over the years. Being only a short walk from what was Hoylake's original Lifeboat Station (now a museum), the pub has very strong ties with the RNLI, & several striking photographs of lifeboats hang on the walls. The pub is tiny, with the main bar dead ahead as you walk in, & a snug to the right. There are always a few guest ales on tap together with a good choice of lagers & cider, & hot food is occasionally available for special events. But I love that they still sell pickled eggs, a very old school bit of pub tucker! The etched mirrors on part of the ceiling of the main bar are an unusual feature, but give the illusion of the bar being larger than it is. In winter a comforting fire burns, & in summer there's some outdoor seating where you can bask in the sun. A covered seating area has been built for smokers to sit outside to have a smoke with some degree of protection from the elements. A great hidden gem of Hoylake more than worth seeking out if you...

This pub must be in top 5 best pubs in and around Hoylake area in my personal perspective, the atmosphere is amazing, staff are well friendly and helpful, couldn't ask more from them, they are well lush, the people I've had the chance to encounter are amazing as well, overall this pub and the fact that it goes back in the day gives me a unique feeling. I love this place and I recommend it to anyone that's looking for chilling and having a good time, whether passing by the area or local. Love...
