Red Cat — Restaurant in Wirral

I’ve recently started visiting with my friends again after many years, mainly for match days. The online table booking system is very user friendly and works perfect. We’ve never been let down with a booking. The atmosphere is fantastic which really can make a difference when watching the game. Altho the pub is very buy on game day there is never a long wait at the bar. The staff are friendly, service with a smile. We’ve had the small plates on a few occasions and the food has never disappointed and comes out nice and hot. The pub itself has a nice modern take and always clean including the toilets, even on busy days they still smell fresh. With plenty of TVs for the sport and a good condition pool table available to use its a great place to go with the family as well as friends. Outside is a large covered seating area with a giant tv that has a great quality picture. Parking spaces can sometimes be a little hard to come by as the car park is shared with Sainsbury’s and a vets, but there is plenty of space within a minutes walk. The pub is wheelchair friendly and quite spacious when moving round. There’s a great selection of draft and bottled drinks alongside a well stocked back bar. The only thing I would like to see is possibly a dedicated glass collector on game days. The tables can sometimes get crowded with empty glasses, leading to them running out of the correct glasses for you drinks. When you’re buying a premium larger and it’s served in the wrong glass it can cause it to go flat. Other than that I would definitely recommend a visit and see what it’s all about...

We had a lovely meal it was hot, wellcooked and had plenty flavour well served sausages, ,chips peas and gravy , also lasagne. We would like to say a big Thank You ,to Jack he was attentive ,polite , professional funny and totally respectful young man . Not just to Myself and my Husband, but to other customers . For example there was a gentleman say over 70 on his own there was a slight issue with certain food availability . Jack gently explained issue making sure he understood and it was if he was the only customer in the pub. Another member of staff shouted over to him he quickly and politely told staff member he was dealing with the customer and would be with them shortly . What a breath of fresh air he is . All the staff we where served by had a smile and where very pleasant .The last time we visited the Red Cat was a couple of years ago experience very manic and unhelpful staff. What a fabulous improvement. Thank you...

Been today for a special 2 course with entertainment.... Enjoyed it very much but...... It was £10 which was reasonable for a meal and entertainment but it was a choice from a seniors menu which was clearly priced as 3 course for £7.99??? I would have thought it would have been a choice from the two meals for £13 with the dessert or starter making the difference? Others were ordering from the main menu and clearly paid the price that was marked in the menu and others didn't have a meal just drinks and still got the entertainment without extra cost..... The food was lovely but very small portions which some seniors would be happy with but we found it too small and don't think it was fair to charge more than the menu price. When others were not paying extra for the entertainment.... We did enjoy the day but think it should be reorganised at...
