I am writing to express my disappointment following my recent visit to your Liscard branch on Friday, 10th October 2025. I am a regular customer and usually dine there two to three times a week, often ordering the Beef Madras, which has always been of excellent quality in the past. However, on this occasion, the meal was extremely disappointing. Every piece of beef in the dish consisted entirely of fat, which made it inedible and quite off-putting. This was very unlike the standard I have come to expect from your establishment. I hope this issue can be addressed, as it has deterred me from ordering this dish again — and from visiting as frequently as I usually do. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and ensure that the quality of this meal is restored to its previous standard. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Updated review 091122 from below... Had one of those 6oz american burgers with cheese (2x3oz) and chips, with a pint £7.50. Can't grumble with the price, tasted ok, wasn't as substantial as I thought it would be (not recommended for a hard worker on its own), plate was heated, small amount of chips. Service despite being busy was quite good this visit. It's like McDonalds, you know what your going to get. The service isn't the best and you might have to ask to get your table cleaned but I think that's down to management coz the staff all appear to be multitasking non stop. The prices are great on the food and drink. Where else can you get a large wine and a pint for under a fiver. As in their advertisement sensible prices.

You can't really fault the 'Spoons. I tend to pop in on a Sunday morning for breakfast which is perfectly decent and comes with refillable coffee in a quiet relaxed environment for well under a tenner. I'm sure at 10PM on a Saturday night the same pub is an entirely different environment, but perhaps that's the essence of a good pub at the end of the day. The staff are always sociable, from Jo at the bar to Irene the cleaner. I've also attached a photo of the carpet, as I believe some odd people like that kind of thing...

Went for Sunday breakfast around 10am. Not expecting much as it is a wetherspoons afterall. But what I found was nothing short of diabolical. App wasnt working so I placed an order at the bar. I was served by an exceptionally hungover looking member of staff with zero front of house skills. Charged extra for a hot drink that should have been included with the price of my breakfast. Then selected hot chocolate out of the machine but received a cup of hot milk. Picked up 4 more cups that were either dirty on the inside or sticky on the outside. I had to go and wash my hands after handling each one! The hot drinks area had clearly not been cleaned in a while (I'm talking multiple levels of dirt. Not just from that morning) while making my drink a member of the kitchen staff came out to make himself a drink and looked filthy. Food finally arrived along with dirty cutlery. Food was cold, beans were dried onto the plate, eggs over cooked and sausages looked anaemic. All in all inedible. But tbh by that time, I really didn't want to eat in there anyway. I dread to think what their...

Staff try their hardest while obviously limited by micromanagement policies enforced from on-high. When a fault on the business-end lead to a wholly disrupted meal, a member of staff suggested I queue up to speak to the bar staff, meaning the food that did arrive would have been left to go cold.

Ordered food recently using the app, the drinks arrived, and we discovered several meals had been wiped from the order. Staff tried their best to understand the issue, but had their hands tied by corporate bureaucracy - we couldn't order food at the till, because all the beef and chicken and various meal options had been sold out. By 5pm.

Their solution was fruity grain bars. If I ran this bar, I'd have taken the hit as part of the country's biggest chain of pubs and refunded the order. But obviously not; maybe they aren't allowed (read: trusted) to use discretion, maybe they don't want to risk the ire of regional managers.

Rumours the place is closing down due to being undercut, but that doesn't mean service should suffer in the meantime. Poor...

Really disappointed, took my mum and the children for a treat, we have been before and enjoyed it.

The food was a problem. The children's food (pasta and pizza) wasn’t included in the meal deal. My little girl loves pasta but refused to eat it - looked like it had been poured out of a tin - she ate it eventually (holding her nose).

My boys pizza was soggy and unappetising, he ate a slice.

I had a steak, it was cooked nicely, but the accoutrements (which i paid extra for) were very stingey.

My mum had fish and chips. The fish was mostly batter, and the peas were more like soup.

We didn’t complain about any of the above.

This was because we had already been made to feel very unwelcome by the staff - the young girls rolled their eyes and sniggered between themselves as they served us. Very unpleasant indeed.

We always enjoyed our previous treats here, and will try again in the future … bit this was really...
