The food was nice enough; however, no sooner had we put our cutlery down, we were being ushered to give our table up because they had a queue at the door. We had our pre booked table for 1 hour and 25 minutes. I felt that for the whole time we were there we were being watched; we had three different members of staff ask if we were okay and if we needed anything which seems on the surface like good customer service but in actual fact, it was over kill. Two members of staff asked if we wanted desserts which we didn’t on both occasions. The member of staff who finally broke the news to us that we needed to give our table up after 1 hour and 25 minutes, clearly felt very uncomfortable and was under the impression that a different member of staff had already told us that we needed to go. It was actually quite humiliating for all involved. I’ve never eaten at Villa Venezia before but have recently begun working in the area for Wirral Council and have driven past the restaurant a few times and thought it looked lovely so told my friends that we should try it. Never again. I have never in my 38 years been ushered out of a restaurant! It seems that the moment you stop spending money in the restaurant, you’re out. Not good whatsoever. I don’t care how much business you attract and how popular you are, there’s absolutely no excuse or room for that poor level of customer service. Extremely...
Read moreWe attended this restaurant just before half 2, my mum & i went inside the restaurant first to ensure there was availability. We spoke to a waitress who checked for the availability and sat us down accordingly, my dad & brother were parking the car, when my dad & brother came into the restaurant i noticed my dad trying to go to the toilet but the waiter stopping him, waving his arms saying "out". My dad tried explaining that his wife & daughter were sitting down to which we heard the waiter shouting "no we stopped serving at 2" so im not really sure why we were seated. The waiter left my dad well & truly humiliated as this was in front of everyone in the restaurant, he then had to shout to ourselves to get up out of the seats we were given in front of all the other guests and to leave the restaurant like we had done something wrong, this was extremely embarrassing for all of us. After leaving and driving to another nearby restaurant we phoned up to speak with the manager and the same guy in question answered the phone telling my dad that we were never given a seat in the first place and we were lying, yet me & my mum WERE sat down by a member of staff as i was there... we are still yet to speak to the owner... so rude & very embarrassing as guests just trying to have something for lunch, definitely avoid if you dont want to be humiliated by...
Read moreI read several reviews of this restaurant on line before going and it nearly put us off! This is one of the issues of Tripadvisor because it is all down to personal taste. It was with trepidation I ventured into this restaurant, expecting what I had read on line (because my family have been many times) and i was pleasantly surprised. The owner was there who greeted us and is very pleasant. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco, which at £19 is the best value I have seen in the 2 weeks I have been travelling up and down to Scotland!! We ordered garlic bread, all freshly made and very tasty. Our dishes comprised Lasagne, calzone and fish cannelloni. All good portions , all hot, all very tasty. I am not saying the food is authentic, it is also not Michelin star, however for the price we paid for 3 people for a nice evening out with drinks I have to say this restaurant is good value for money and more than acceptable food. It is definately...
