I don't recommend working here if you want to earn any money at all, or have a competent manager. I started working here, being told I would be getting 30 hours a week, working both the bar and kitchen, but I was told to tick the 0 hours box on the contract (which is dodgy enough as it is). I barely got 10 hours most weeks, and the rota was only sent, 4 days before the working week. After asking why, the reasons I got were "business was slow", "I didn't want to work in the kitchen", and the fact that I had holidays booked, meant they didn't put me on shifts, despite me telling them I could do early shifts on those days. As well as not being able to hold up the deal on the management end, when I'd be working in the kitchen with the manager, he'd shout to get this, that and the other done, while also telling you to stick to one thing, confusing everything and making the environment even more stressful. He barely knows the menu for the pub and isn't as good as he seems to thinks, when "working". I should also add that the way he seems to think burgers and well done steaks should he cooked, is in a microwave. I transferred from here to another pub, due to being told I'd be in a better positon. Instead of the transfer being done, I was put down as leaving the company, so my whole employment situation was up in the air for weeks, and I barely had any communication or cooperation at all, to help with the situation...

Garlice Mushroom starters (x2) - both had no salad, no garlic mayo had to ask for the garlic mayo.
Scampi - peas were like bullets, no tartar sauce.
Crispy chicken Bbq melt - all dry rock hard, chicken burnt, bacon was black - totally unediable to fact where my friend asked for money back as put her off!
Ultimate SFC burger- No tomato on burger, onion rings burnt harder than a brick! Bacon really burnt black! Chicken over cooked - asked for new onion rings, lady was really nice about this and requested new ones for me.
All looked like it had been sitting under a hot lamp or grill. Starter plates etc was taken then mains brought out straight away to which can tell they'd been under some sort of heat waiting for us to finish our starters.
Ordered online at table- No ice in cordial or pineapple juice when we chose it on the online ordering....no blackcurrant cordial for the squash available.
I wanted to make you aware of all this and we've chosen to come out for a nice meal which was totally horrible and we will not be returning to this restaurant again! Such a shame for it being a local!

Read moreVisited bank Holiday Monday on the way home after a morning shopping. When ordering food we were told there was a 40 minute wait for food, we didn’t mind this so still ordered. 1 1/2 hours later we eventually got our food to which mine was lukewarm but I was so hungry I didn’t want to wait longer for another meal. We couldn’t get to the bar to ask how much longer the food was going to be as there was a huge queue out the door and only 2 people serving the whole time we were there. When I was riding food a lady complained about waiting for puddings to which the staff members response was “they are concentrating on main meals”. Maybe I should have taken this comment as a sign to go elsewhere for our food. I could only see one waitress occasionally and she looked exhausted. Meals were not coming out of the kitchen very fast which made us think that the place was running on skeleton staff due to bank holiday despite outside entertainment being on for the bank holiday. We were not the only people who waited for meals as we heard a few people complaining at their tables. It was the first time I visited and I won’t be rushing back...
