Update - 26/08/22

We visited this evening our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebration meal. As usual, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meals were again up to the high standards that we have come to expect. As we were celebrating, we splashed out on desserts and I'm so glad we did. My daughter had a sticky chocolate pudding which filled the plate. My wife and myself had the Eton Mess Sundae. Very creamy with Strawberries which were so sweet. Halfway down the glass the merangue provided the crunch. If I could give The Chestnut a further star, I certainly would.

Update - 02/01/2022.

Have just been back to the Chestnut Tree for lunch. Once again I cannot find fault with the pub, staff or the meals we ordered. The steak I had was cooked to exactly how I like it and my wife's salmon was a really good size and melted when cut. We did wait for some time for our order to arrive but we expected this for a Sunday lunchtime and they were busy. It is advisable at this this time to book a table. I look forward to eating here again the next time I'm in the Midlands.

This was the first time I'd been back since the new extension. The food here has always been good but as usual for expectations were high. For a Monday afternoon the eating area was very busy, but we managed to get a table. The place was clean and tidy and a member of staff was busy clearing and cleaning tables as soon as they became vacant. We chose our meals from and extensive but not expensive menu and we're asked whilst ordering if we had any dietary requirement, this was the first time we've ever been asked in any eating place we've visited. We did have a slight wait, but like I said, they were busy. The meals themselves were fairly substantial though my side salad did contain far too much lettuce. I found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. Will definitely be enjoying another meal here next time I visit the area. A lovely place for a great meal.
