Subject: Feedback on Santa Breakfast Experience I am writing to provide feedback on our recent visit for the Santa Breakfast, which included three children and two adults. Unfortunately, the experience fell significantly short of expectations, and I felt it was important to bring these issues to your attention.
Firstly, the pub was extremely cold, with no heating turned on despite the chilly temperature (around 15 degrees). We had to keep our jackets on throughout the meal, which made the experience uncomfortable for everyone, especially the children.
The breakfast portions were shockingly small for the price charged (£10.99 per person). For the children's meal, the plate consisted of half a tomato, one sausage, one egg, and a single tablespoon of beans—hardly an adequate meal. The adult plates were not much better, with just two sausages, one slice of bacon, a single mushroom piece, and two tablespoons of beans. We even ended up sharing beans from the adult plates to make up for the children's insufficient portions. To add to this, some of the sausages were burnt, further diminishing the quality. This offering does not qualify as a full English breakfast by any standard.
The advertised "Breakfast with Santa" aspect was also disappointing. The Santa present looked unprofessional and did not engage with us at all, which undermined the festive spirit for the children. It certainly did not match the expectations set by the event's promotion.
Additionally, we had to wait 40 minutes for our food, and during this time, we observed several tables cluttered with used plates and cups. While this might be understandable during busy periods, it was disheartening to see staff dancing in the area instead of attending to the dining room's cleanliness or customer service.
I chose not to complain at the time as I did not want to spoil the festive atmosphere for the children, but I feel it is important to raise these concerns now in the hope of improvements for future customers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I would appreciate a response regarding...
Read moreWe'd booked online for 4pm and wanted to order from the daytime menu. However, I was told the chef has not turned up that day, and there would be a wait before getting our food as they were waiting for another chef to arrive st 4.30pm! I said as long as we weren't charged the evening rate that would be fine. The food arrived at around 5pm. The food itself was just OK, but my sister's avocado on toast was not even OK! The toast was cold and my linguine was quite bland. I left a good portion of it. I'd ordered a sweet as part of the two courses. The dirty plates remained on our table for a good half hour before I myself moved them to another table. After 45 minutes and still no sweet, I had to ask at the bar for it to be brought out! Then I had another 10 minute wait but the guy did apologise at this stage. The sweet was very nice though.
I needed the RADAR keynfor the accessible toilet on the ground floor only to be told by the bar staff that it was missing, so had to trudge upstairs in the end. I have both a heart and lung condition and this made it difficult for me.
I had not been to the Westacres for two years when, unfortunately, I had a similar experience with respect to the food quality and service times and sadly, it looks like things HAVE NOT improved at all! It's a great shame as back in the day, The Westacres was a lovely place to visit both in terms of food quality, ambience and...

Food and drinks were great, and were served quickly no waiting around at all. Not great having to order via the app, but if that's what we have to do, that's what we have to do 🤷🏼♀️. We ordered a drink with a lemonade mixer but was told after paying, that the lemonade pump was out of order, again staff very nice and changed the drink promptly. Only negative thing I have to say is that after the meal, we tried to order desserts via the app but we were unable to do so as they had finished serving food but we weren't made aware of this, anywhere else I've ever been, always allow you to order dessert after your meal even if they finish serving, they just don't take anymore food orders, this did then make us feel like we were being awkward ordering deserts. We didn't know if we would want anything after the meal and because you have to pay in advance, we chose not to order them just incase we couldn't manage it. The lady with the wolves face mask(I'm sorry, I have no other way to describe her) did take our orders no problem at all and was extremely pleasant throughout our visit. The staff made this an enjoyable visit and great customer service alone always makes us want to go back!...
