Virgin Tavern — Restaurant in Worcester

Disgusting. 7pm on a Monday evening, I walked in, alone, smiling politely, approached the bar, and thought the tough looking middle aged woman behind the bar hadn't noticed me, so, I said excuse me, do you mind if I nip to the loo quickly please? Which she clearly heard, as she looked me in the eye, snarled and turned her head away to ignore me completely. I found my own way to the gents, through no help from what I'm guessing are the regulars, from whom I got the impression, they were looking for a fight with whoever wandered in. Upon finding the toilet, I was greeted by drug wraps scattered around the cubicle. Which would explain the welcome from the regulars. Obviously I didn't return to the bar to order a drink. Wonderful visit . Myself and my wife chose to stop at the Virgin Tavern for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Upon entering the premises we were greeted and made welcome by the management and staff. Lovely friendly pub. We tried the homemade pizza and homemade burger and were not disappointed. Homemade by the landlady Danielle and to be honest much nicer than most high end establishments at a very affordable cost. The locals were very friendly and the manager Craig was a credit, along with his staff, to the business. I would happily recommend trying this little pub if you want a nice friendly welcoming place. Great all round welcoming pub for any age range. Pool, darts, crib, dominoes, poker, bingo, live music entertainment and Bank Holiday family fun days throughout the year. Food score only low as restaurant side not main focus here though very good limited choice of basket meals always available. Beer gardens back & front, marquee at front and large outdoor TV screen at back. Friendly local, always happy to welcome new visitors. Always plenty of car parking...
