Friendly upon entering then realised just how SNOBBY and PRETENTIOUS the staff are. There were 4 people outside and we were the only 2 inside initially. Then a couple came in and sat at the opposite corner. My friend and I were enjoying a nice beer and then I showed a video of our new dog. About 15 seconds in I was told to turn the sound off my phone as it was affecting the sound and echoing in the bar. I'm mean really? There was music playing so can't see how it affected anything or anyone. I quickly finished my drink sadly my mate was a little behind so took a little longer. We were offered another drink as it was last orders probably around 9pm or so in which we politely declined. We left rather put out and offended and will not be returning. Very disappointing. If I had a sound system and was playing offensive music inside then fair enough but we were made to feel unwelcome having a nice pint minding our own business. Not to be recommended - GO TO THE OLD CYCLE STORE across the road MUCH...
Read moreA superb craft oriented micropub with 6 keg taps. An excellent variety of styles, ABVs and breweries was featured - had a NE pale from Drop Project, an IPA from Howling Hops and a Impy from Polly’s - all top notch and at prices which are reasonable for these days. Good decor and a flower on each table to add a dab of colour to what can be a fairly sterile masculine environment. Came in - new to the Worthing beer scene for a 2 night stay with a vague idea of what venues I’d like to go visit. Came out - courtesy of co-owner Gareth with a full blown 2 day tour complete with fab dinner and breakfast recommendations. Great selection of keg, some super cans in the fridge (even if it was slightly depleted) and had a great chat about the general beer scene. Gareth is a great guy, been there over 5 years and long may they continue. Will be back next time I’m...
Read more3 years on from my previous review I can't help but update after a recent experience...
Somehow, they've gotten even better! Gareth and Gemma absolutely nailed it right from day one and now the shop, still as instantly recognisable and welcoming as ever, has benefitted from the refinements, tweaks, love and hard work poured into it over their award-winning four years. They have maintained a consistently brilliant service and added polish and patina in equal measure.
I don't even live in Worthing any more but go back often, and Beer No Evil is one of the main reasons.
Original review: Always a brilliant time. Fantastic beer and environment, rounded off by high calibre hosting from the dynamic duo in charge who are always on hand for great...
