We had our wedding reception here in 2024 so what better place to go for a lunch on our first anniversary. Was lovely being greeted by Heidi and Niall who made us feel so welcome and congratulated us when we arrived. They let us have the same table we had for our reception and even had a little table placement with a happy anniversary on it especially for us. I ordered the salmon and mature cheddar fish cake with poached egg, lemon mayonnaise and new potatoes, my husband chose the hand battered cod and chips with mushy peas. Both meals were so tasty. We followed this with the clementine tart with raspberry sorbet so refreshing and the little violet flowers on top were a lovely touch. We ended with a latte and a cappuccino. The service from Heidi and Niall was superb from start to finish and the food was amazing as always. See you soon for my 60th birthday xx

Well where do I start!( why from the beginning I suppose đŸ€Ș!) Yesterday (Saturday 14/10/23) I visited The Bull via work colleagues who said positive things about your establishment- and they weren’t wrong. Travelling from Chichester, I had a coffee and explored the garden before ordering wine(pictured) which was good value but the Chickpea Curry was spicy and just right even the fragrant rice was so good I asked the barman the recipe, simple enough but delicious. Finally I would like to say that the latter as well as the nice Waitresses service was 1st rate as well as the ambience of the customers. I had a weekend that I will never forget and I do hope ( work pending) that I will return soon. Once again thank you for your hospitality.

Disappointing food with loads of items missing on the menu. They removed the starters from our bill but I won't return by choice. It looks great and had a nice feel when entering but it was downhill from there. Such a shame as we were celebrating a friends 50th. On the plus side, they brought us some plates and forks so we could eat the cake we had brought with us. Unfortunately for them, that was the nicest food we ate there! I had the squid starter that was so processed it was all herby batter and nothing else. Very dry and bland. I then had the Smothered chicken which was SOOO smothered all I could taste was bbq sauce. I didn't go hungry but I wasn't satisfied.

A pub we have been visiting for quite few years now but the service was sadly not up to scratch today. Food wait was over an hour and I ordered a ploughman’s and so did my mother whilst dad had fish and chips. I had mentioned the ploughman’s to the waitress as I could not see it on the menu. She returned saying it was available and gave me a vague idea what was on it and I decided to order it and my mum agreed she would also have one. We waited for almost an hour for it to arrive and I was shocked how big it was and when I mentioned it we were told it is a sharing platter for two! Well surely the waitress should have mentioned that when two people are ordering it and the third has a separate meal. On the plus side it was delicious and we took loads home for another meal and the fish and chips was also really good. Another disappointment was that at no stage were we asked if we would like another drink. We eventually saw another waitress and mentioned we would need a take away box for what we could not eat and another 20 min passed before I eventually managed to get someone’s attention again and asked for the bill and a takeaway box. At this point I expressed my disappointment and asked again for the bill and the box. Another wait and the lady arrived apologetically and then asked would I like the bill!!! I’m so sorry to write this Heidi but today was very disappointing. A simple check in to our table apologising for the delay in food would have been wonderful and this could have been further remedied with would you like another drink in the meantime. Obviously we were suitably full and did not asked for dessert but were not even asked if we wanted. Slow service, poor menu guidance, good food, no check in for dessert and poor follow up. We will be back...

Waited 10 minutes to be seated despite having booked. Could see the staff were really busy, so not the end of the world. Korean bbq chicken strips and cheesy garlic bread starters were excellent - lovely flavour and generous portions. I had bullet proof steak pie for main - so overcooked I literally couldn't break into it. It was accompanied with a flat scoop of grayish mash, peas & carrots - got lots of gravy though! Sent it back and got an undercooked pie with a raw bottom and very scant filling as an unenviable replacement! Couldn't ba arsed to complain again as hubby had virtually finished his overcooked hunter's chicken by then. His chips were good though. Tried the mini pud and drink (triple choc brownie and coffee option) for dessert - I got told I had to pay 99p extra for icecream (more if I wanted the clotted ice cream that was part of the proper size pud). Out came a 2 inch by 1 inch piece of brownie, no chocolate sauce, and the tiniest, eeny weeny spoonful of vanilla ice cream, presented in one of those mini little sauce bowls that normally hold a blob of ketchup. Two mouthfuls at best!! I'd love to know what size the full price triple chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce and clotted icecream is. Latte was lukewarm - cost me ÂŁ6.58 - had to laugh otherwise I might have been rude. No suggestion of a reduction due to having to send a meal back and then eating our mains at different times. Lovely looking pub, with plenty of guests - menu looked good, but beyond the starter, my main was badly cooked (twice), and my mini pud was minuscule. Very, very...

Used the bull for special occasion meals before but yesterday was terrible we waited to be seated although plenty of staff and hardly anyone in their we were told what was missing from the menu which I thought was lovely only then to order and be told more was missing I would like to add at this point we were the only people in the restaurant so it’s not like someone else ordered it before us we eventually got our food which was ok starters were lovely main I was very disappointed the only potato product on the menu was chips the waitress kept passing the food over people rather than walk round and put it on the table we then asked for the desert menu we waited 10 minutes then decided to try and get their attention someone was behind the bar just talking to someone not serving them she kept looking at us but ignoring us in the end we had to go to the bar and say we would like to order she came and took the order 10 more minutes later another waitress came back and said our order didn’t go through so had to order yet again as I say we were the only table in the restaurant and then when we were eating dessert we were asked do u want coffee they obviously. Wanted to go home I mean if u hadn’t kept us waiting so long we would of been out of their much earlier it was supposed to be a nice birthday meal but it was...
