I chose a Flaming grill pub for my Grans birthday feed as I loved the first one I had used wile in premier inn. The steaks coming out on the sizzling iron plate is a real treat. We had a group of 8 plus 2 kids at around 4pm and the chef only had to do our table at that time. Lovely ultimate sharing starters but the main steaks came out cold no sizzling plate and some very poor steaks. Later they said they had a fairly poor batch so why did they serve them ?. They replaced two witch came out with the nice sizzling sound that I had told everyone about and they were a lot better. Everyone else just done there best with what they got. no one had there chips or peas as they were to cold. One person had the Mother Clucker and that was lovely he said. The staff were OK but not super happy hence the 3 stars. Good value. Just add very poor seating choice, our table ended close to another set of tables. Yet that was also the path out to the garden and play area so the people on the end of both sets of tables had constant interruption ?

Wanted to love the place after seeing such good reviews. But unfortunately it was a disaster. Half the food we ordered wasn't available. Any chef should be able to make garlic bread! Especially as it features in so many of the meals. Despite stating we had a disabled guest on the booking we had a table upstairs. It was boiling hot in the pub. The place was unfortunately filthy. They need to clean the windows where the corner tables are. Dead flies and cobwebs tend to ruin the appetite. We had several things wrong with our order. Ranging from one entire meal missing to having the steak sauce served 15 mins after the rest of the meal. The menus were covered in ketchup. Glasses weren't clean. Just totally disappointed with the experience. Especially as it was a birthday meal. The food was fast to arrive (except the gravy) which should be a plus but the chef needs to leave the microwave alone! Not sure that we will return which is a real shame as it did seem as if it was a great place for families.

Myself and my family love going here, it has a great atmosphere, kids are very welcome, younger children even have a small play area in the garden, the garden in general is very nice. The food is good, I like to put it into a category of 'great pub grub' and all meals are very well priced. It can get very busy here and so sometimes the wait for food can be up to 45 minutes, but i get the impression that they wont rush food out in lesser condition. The challenge meals are really good, I've done the steak challenge and it was great, as was the burger challenge, both beat me though! The drinks selection is pretty standard stuff. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. There's also a great sports area for watching football etc on TV. Well worth signing up to there app as great email deals are always being sent through. We are frequent visitors.

If you’re looking for a pint and watch the football then it’s great. If you’re going for food you won’t have a good experience. We’ve been coming to this pub for years and it’s just getting worse. Serving staff was up front that we would have an hour wait on food (even though we had booked to come). We waited the hour but had to move tables because of another table being so loud we couldn’t talk to each other. It was apparent another table was feeling uncomfortable about the noisy diners. When our food finally arrived the chicken flatbread was very disappointing. Cold, missing bits, looked nothing like the picture. The chips are over cooked. We got a refund for the flatbread. However the kitchen closed whilst we were eating. So when we went to order desserts at the end, the server was obviously disgruntled that we weren’t happy with the food and decided to tell us that they can’t do us any desserts despite the other server saying he shouldn’t have said no and she would’ve taken out dessert order. We were aware of the lowering standards of the restaurant and service in this pub but decided to come anyway as our grandmother has recently lost her husband and has Alzheimer’s and would appreciate some family time in a familiar setting however the experience was not good and left our grandmother upset upon leaving. The young lady that was serving was very pleasant and apologetic about our experience. The other server has the customer service quality of an ash tray. As mentioned we’ve been a visitor to this pub for years and I genuinely avoid trying to be served by this man. I’ve also learnt the only thing that can’t come out of the kitchen too wrong...

Birthday Meal ruined will not be back soon… Was my son’s birthday on Boxing Day so we usually go for pub dinner. We usually go yeoman but we decided the mulberry would be better. We had our table booked for 5pm as we had 4 kids so we didn’t want a late one. When we arrived we handed in the cake and sat down. No crackers which was weird as we had crackers the last time I came (which was last week for a friendly group Christmas doo and my experience was so much different!) apparently 3 chefs had called in sick I mean at this point just cancel all your bookings tbh! But no they decided they could do it! 3 staff tending the bar and waitress .. just no! Starters came out well not a problem.. then about half an hour later mains finally but cold awful tastes awful nasty! By now it’s 6.30 pm so we are waiting and waiting, it’s now 7pm we hadn’t been asked if we wanted any sauces or if anything was okay. just not good enough tbh! So puddings arrived (half of them) whist half of us tucked in the other half waited another 10 minutes for the other desserts to come out. Buy now it’s pushing on 8pm we decided to call it a night and get the little ones back and just ask for the cake back! Awful experience would never ever go there again! If you don’t have chefs do your selves a favour and cancel the bookings don’t put your selves or staff or customers though that! Just...

My wife an I (both in our 60's) took our grand children to the Mulberry Goring as a Sunday (15th May) treat. When we arrived for our 5 clock booking the place was pretty full on and the kitchen door was swinging open shut non stop so it was busy. As usual the bar staff and waiting staff are always helpful and nice but we waited quite a while to get surved and even longer to get our food. We're not impatient but you can only keep 2x kids settled for so long. However that was not our complaint - it was the food!, we'd "starved ourselves all day to enjoy a meal out but was so disappointed with it. We ordered 2x roast dinners which included sliced beef from a packet I suspect which was so rubbery that I had a job cutting or chewing it many roast potatoes were overdone and too solid to cut and the mash was like a sort of packet putty. One of the meals was a chick veggie option in a bun-I attempted to bite into it but instead withdrew the "chicken" part and tapped it on the the wooden table top and it sounded like wood on wood. I could add more about the food but I'm sure we've made the point.the next day we ate at the Perch on worthing pier-more expensive but delicious. the 2 x green king pubs my wife and I used in Northampton last year were an absolute joy to eat at. Why should the standards be so different?...... Its because of what goes on in...
