Le Spice — Restaurant in Worthing

AVOID. Waste of time, money and a spoilt celebration meal. After using Le Spice for about 5 years we ordered a meal on my wife's birthday using the on-line order system. We ordered the food for a specific time as we had to go out and the order system supposedly lets you request a specific time. The only thing I can say is that it doesn't work, and the staff don't even know about it, so they just send the food out, and it arrived 30mins to early, and we were still out. There was someone at home, but only by chance, so we could take delivery. The driver was useless, all he said was the price, not a hello. The food arrived cold, and one dish had split and covered the rest.The Tikka Masala may has well been a soup, it was awful. When I rang, the man who answered refused to come and get the food for a refund, and said the manager was out and would ring me straight back. 3 phone calls and 45m later I got hold of the manager, who then said how lovely it was to hear from me and had only just spoken to my parents. She must be clairvoyant as they are dead! No offer of a refund for the spoilt items, just said how busy they were, a complete waste of time, and a complete waste of money. We will never use this restaurant again. I am sure that won't bother them, it must be nice to care so little about...

Atmosphere welcoming and comfortable with a very pleasant owner whose business is unfortunately being undermined as she is let down by her confrontational and disrespectful (family) waiting staff.

For my taste, my first experience of the food was that it was too salty and under spiced. Yet the portion sizes were good, prices reasonable, food both hot and presentable, and the meat tender.

If the salt and lack of spice doesn't both you, which it probably wont according to the other reviews of this and other Indian restaurants, then yes -- give this place a go and make your own mind up about the staff. You may be much luckier than we were.

We left early with food unfinished as felt insulted by the waiter, yet would have much preferred to spend more time there, finish a good meal and look forward to going again.

Will we go again?

Well, I'm STILL looking for a good Indian restaurant, preferably close to home, which this one is -- and the owner was so apologetic on behalf of her son that I want to give it a second attempt.

Do I trust her waiting son any where near my food?...

I have eaten Indian food for 40 years and I would ask you to look at my review if I could give zero stars I would !! First , the owner was polite to start but soon changed . She ordered me wrong dish lamb and not chicken but I had no glasses avalible to hunt for the lamb which did not exist in the sauce 🤷 Second my partners food was ordered and the chicken was not cooked bright pink and smelt . We brought this to the lady owner attention who then did not even apologise but became quite rude to us ..

I left food and paid for the starter and expensive drinks and went to another Indian restaurant up the road the Mahoon , what a lovely place great service and food was spot on 😊

Shame the people at the spice can’t follow suit ,this by the way is the worst Indian food I have ever...
