We've been ordering from Papa Johns broadwater fairly often recently and i have no complaints about the food, it's good and up to the standard you should expect from a takeaway chain like this, in my opinion. Had a slight issue recenty when I ordered a pizza in shop, was told it'd be an hour wait (Large customer volume so to be expected), however this was never prepared, unfortunate as that is, the staff were very apologetic and sincere, they made my order especially at the time, with a complimentary Ben and Jerry's, and several dips - mistakes happen, so no worries at all. At this particular Papa Johns, your order is taken right in front of the kitchen, which can make it hard to hear the employee's especially if like me, you ruined your hearing listening to music loudly as a youth, but the staff are friendly and didn't seem bothered when I had to ask them repeatedly what they had said. And this affords a benefit, if you're one who is conscious about how your food is prepared, you can see directly into the kitchen and watch your food be prepared. Sometimes the narrow customer portion of the shop can be filled with delivery drivers and their bags.
I visited the day after (I like pizza 🙂👍), this time I only had to wait 10 minutes and was met at the door by an employee who handed my food to me with a smile, offering another friendly apology for the mistake the day before. (Context: the store had delivery drivers inside, so it was nicer for me as a customer to be met at the door).
Full stars on all accounts, there is nothing in my opinion or experience that is wrong with the shop or employee's.
Don't expect dine-in, I'm not even sure if any papa johns do dine in. Parking by this shop is often tricky, especially at peak times due to the multiple shops along the row, this is no fault of this store however, just a heads up, if you're even reading this. I've not asked for pineapple on my pizza yet, so there's still time to be chased out with pitchforks. Got a 10% off order for large pizzas on my phone, not good for my gut but good for my taste buds.

Read moreNice enough pizza.. although it is a shame some of their clearly very immature staff members who have absolutely no customer service skills, or respect for that matter, feel that it's okay to sh*t talk about a customer they're serving whilst I was stood there waiting and in ear shot of them doing so.. all because I thought the pizza I'd ordered had a BBQ base pizza previously as I'd misread the menu, and asked if poss to have it with a BBQ sauce than a tomato one, the girl who served me said it wasn't but offered to do it with a BBQ sauce base, I also added pineapple to it.. I didn't complain about my previous pizza, I bought it up jokingly as I was paying and even said I would have had it the same if they didn't offer to change it for me.
I literally heard the guy getting it out the oven and cutting it saying to another guy (who was making eye contact with me whilst listening to and laughing with the guy sh*t talking about me) actually mimicking me in a stupid voice about how I'd said I thought it was BBQ base, how I'd asked for pineapple and just general stupid and immature comments.
I get having a laugh at work over customer orders or whatever, but have some decency and also respect and at least wait till the customer has gone out of the store to be disrespectful.
Luckily I'm not local and only went in there because myself and my partner were in the area visiting my dad and wanted to have dinner as we have a baby and a fair drive home and didn't want to have to faff about cooking later on.
I will be calling and speaking to a manager to inform them because I don't think it's fair to be disrespectful to customers, however indirect it was, the guy who was listening to and laughing with him was looking at me whilst this was going on and could've told him to stop because I was there listening but decided to egg him on and encourage it.
Rude, disrespectful and just petty. I have thick skin but a short tolerance for disrespect. I guess the younger generation are different in this sense as they just have no respect for anyone...
Read moreI would love to give this place 5 stars as I regularly ordered through the covid lockdowns. However in the last year/ year and a half, they have had a changeover of management and unfortunately it's gone completely downhill.
Most recent order had me and my friend and partner waiting over an hour with the online tracker not making any progress whatsoever.
I tried to call several times but the call just wouldn't go through. My friend and partner also tried calling. Waited another half hour before deciding to go to tescos to get dinner as we weren't going to spend money on another takeaway.
Got home and cooked tesco pizza, just for my friend to joke about making a bet that the pizza would arrive 5 minutes before they shut. Low and behold, he was right. Tesco pizza cooked and sitting down to eat at almost 11pm, the door knocks and I outright refuse the delivery and request a refund. In total, we waited 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Today I received no call back or email to confirm I would be refunded. So I visited the branch to ask for a refund in person. The guy who I talked to didn't offer any apologies, was rather rude with his tone and didn't come across as friendly. Fingers crossed I should get a refund within 5 days.
This Papa Johns was honestly a favourite of mine from 2020-2021 but sad to say, I won't be ordering again.
I really recommend you don't order from this branch. I'm not the only one, many people have had orders not turn up, phone calls left unanswered and have experienced rude and subpar service.
Which is a shame because the...
