I have just had the most upsetting experience experience without even visiting this place for the first time. I booked the cafe on the recommendation of some friends who go regularly. So first of all I cannot comment on the food at all. I will be honest and say that this mistake was mine but the way it has been dealt with is heartbreaking. I booked a table for what I thought was for tomorrow, In error It appeared I had booked it for today. I had a call from a lady (not the warmest person to speak with) saying I was half an hour late. I apologised and said that I was extremely sorry and I had meant to book it for tomorrow. Her response quite bluntly said ‘well im very sorry but we will now have to charge you £40 for a no show’. She said that she had to turn customers away and for that I am very sorry, I wouldn’t have done this intentionally. I did ask if we could still come tomorrow and suggested that £40 came off of our bill. The answer was NO. I believe that if customers were turned away then customers more than likely will have filled our table today as she explained they were extremely busy. I am just in total disbelief that the business wouldn’t try to understand this was an honest mistake and allow us to visit tomorrow, still take the £40 and take this off of our bill. Money is so tight at the moment, I’m visiting the area (my old home town) and I was so looking forward to visiting this cafe with friends. The result of this has left me teary and has completely ruined my day. Gutted by the whole experience and as a result I won’t see foot in the door now which is such a shame. I’m sorry that this is how you chose to treat people (honest people) during such difficult times who wanted to come and spend money at...

Very disappointing service and attitude of certain staff. I booked a table for breakfast online for my sons birthday. I had called ahead to make sure this was ok as I was booking for 12 people and the website only allowed a table of 8 to be booked. The man I spoke to assured me that if I put a note on both bookings I could have the 2 tables together so we could celebrate. When I arrived we had been given one table right at the back of the cafe and another right at the front! Not even close to each other! I requested that we move so we could sit together but this was apparently too much of a problem for the blonde haired lady who greeted us. The cafe was empty apart from us so it really wouldn’t have inconvenienced any other customers. I told the blonde haired lady that I had arranged it by telephone and put a note on my booking as I had been told to do. She told me it was far too many people to seat together! In which case why didn’t they tell me that when I called them!! So eventually we sat down at our separate tables and tried to make the best of it. I was very unhappy and felt sorry for my son who’s birthday of our family it was and who had to go from table to table to see all of our family. Won’t be going...

Visited The Orchard cafe on my brother's recommendation and was not disappointed. The service was warm and friendly and the lady serving was especially patient and considerate to the austisitic lady I was supporting as she made her order. There is something for everyone here, and there are many Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options here and all the tea served is leaf tea in a pot. The food was absoutely delicious and freshly prepared, however my only quibble would be that for £8 the Buddha bowl could have at least 3 slices of Halloumi or maybe a £1 cheaper and £6 is a little steep for two pancakes with just maple syrup, especially as there are other cafes that do a stack for less, again maybe make it three for the price. Overall fantastic little cafe and I will be going back to try other options...

Amazing, absolutely amazing. The whole experience from walking in the door to leaving was a throughly enjoyable. I ordered the orchard breakfast and my partner had the banana pancake (swapped the banana out for strawberries). The wait time for food was minimal and the quality of food was excellent! The wait staff were unbelievably friendly and explained the menu very well. There was pretty much a replacement option for vegan on almost every meal. Also all the menu options are all available all day. All round a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend the orchard for any time of the day. It can be quite busy so a booking is recommended, we managed to squeeze in without one but we quickly noticed many people had pre-booked.

I can't count the amount of times I've been passed The Orchard and never thought to go inside. Finally went in for a spot of brunch yesterday lunch with family and I love it! The atmosphere is really cosy and welcoming and our server was brilliant. She got us sorted in no time. 3 caramel Lattes, toasted tea cakes for my sister and mum and the American pancakes for me. I cannot state this enough, the pancakes are amazing! Thick pancakes with melted cheese, bacon, sausage and a fried egg on top with maple syrup on the side. Absolutely banging! I did not know pancakes could taste so good. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options if that's what you like too. I'm definitely curious about the Buddha bowl. Will definitely be back in future.
