Prepare to have your taste buds taken on the most exhilarating journey of their lives, because when it comes to Chung Ying, the words like “great” simply don’t do it justice. This is no ordinary dining experience – this is a full-blown festival of flavors, a carnival of culinary delights, and a parade of gastronomic greatness that has us coming back for more time and time again!
From the moment you walk through the doors of Chung Ying, you’re greeted with an ambiance that is both warm and inviting. The rich aromas wafting from the kitchen are enough to make your mouth water before you even glance at the menu. And once you do, oh boy, prepare to be dazzled by a selection that feels like a carefully curated love letter to Chinese cuisine.
On our many visits to this epicurean paradise, we’ve tasted our way through dishes that could only be described as divine. The crispy duck, with its skin that crackles like a symphony, is a revelation. The sweet and sour pork? A masterpiece, balancing the flavours like a seasoned tightrope walker. And don’t even get us started on the dim sum – each bite is like a little pocket of joy, bursting with flavour and wrapped in perfection.
Of course, every restaurant has its quirks, and Chung Ying is no exception. There was that one time we were refused entry – but honestly, we’ve chalked it up to being so popular that they simply couldn’t handle the fabulousness of our presence that night. And yes, there was that mix-up with our order once, but who are we to complain when even the wrong dish was an unexpected delight? In fact, it turned out to be a happy accident that led us to discover a new favorite!
And now, dear readers, we must quote the illustrious Jack Karlson: “A succulent Chinese meal!” Indeed, every meal at Chung Ying is the epitome of succulent, a glorious feast that leaves you utterly satisfied yet eagerly planning your next visit before you’ve even left your seat.
In conclusion, if you haven’t yet experienced the sheer culinary bliss that is Chung Ying, then you, my friend, are missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures. It’s a restaurant that transcends mere dining and elevates it to an art form. So, grab your friends, make your reservations, and prepare yourself for a meal that will be the stuff of legends. Chung Ying, you have our undying love and a five-star rating – but if we could give you a hundred stars, we...
Read moreI really can't believe ANY of these bad reviews. I ordered tonight and the food was unbelievable. The meat was so soft and succulent. The dishes were full and bulging.it REALLY is the BEST I have found so far in Kidderminster. And believe me in 13 years I think I may possibly have tried them all. I have actually eaten from here years ago but I wasn't on the Internet at the time to be writing reviews. One thing I've noticed in many of these reviews is that people have eaten here for many years (clearly very happy as they kept coming back) but then only when they had what they perceived as a 'bad' meal did they bother to write a review. Why do people do that? Why weren't they writing amazing reviews when the food was clearly good enough to keep bringing them back? I'm so shocked that this restaurant has only 3.7 stars. It just goes to show you really CAN'T always believe what you read. When the only time people are bothering to write a review is when they dislike a meal I don't see why they bother at all. It was good enough for years for you but one bad meal and you want to slate the place? No that's not how it should work! My food was incredible, delivered extremely fast, brilliant value for money, and the customer service was second to none. This is 100 percent my new takeaway place. And people please, if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. What happened to helping others, all them years when you believed the food was great where was your review then? 🤔 Think about that next time please. But...
Read moreLike previous reviewers, we have used Chung Ying probably over decades by now. The food has always top-notch. We ordered our usual meals tonight with anticipation of delightfully prepared food. Instead, what we got was just about uneatable and disgraceful.
I ordered my usual succulent Duck in Orange sauce and received greasy pieces of duck with no sign at all of orange sauce at all, egg fried rice with just a hint of egg. We had to make our own orange sauce in order to attempt to eat it, but even so, the meal was totally uneatable.
To add to the misery, when the driver delivered the so-called meal, he had on his list that we hadn't paid despite paying online when we ordered. He didn't believe me when I assured him that we had.
Phoning Chung Ying to give feedback was just met with clearly insincere apologies and mutterings of a new chef and problems with the on-line ordering system.
So sad to see a once amazing service fall to the wayside so pitifully and dramatically. Time to look for a new Chinese take away, me thinks.
My advice is to steer clear from Chung Ying; the once king of Chinese food locally is no more. Even as I write this, I shudder at the thought of the disgusting service and food we received and hope that our stomachs will forgive us for trying to eat the uneatable....
