A perfect 'step back in time'. With a little imagination. Great use of the railway building which, like plenty of others, could have been left deteriorating on the spot. This one is aided of course by the wonderful Severn Valley Railway that runs a valued timetable to Bridgenorth with sometimes steam engines and preserved railway carriages. The pub is fitted to match the surroundings and is also outside the current Midlands services from Birmingham and Worcester. I had a very good pint of Bewdley Brewery, Worcestershire Way and a cheese and onion cob. Local real ales available and the pub is Good Beer Guide listed for 2025. Well worth a stop off. Cheers.

Always warm and cosy. Good choice of real ale, though sadly served a little on the warm side. There's a real fire too, but it's very rarely lit. Walk out of the back door and you're on the platform for the Severn Valley Railway, lovely heritage steam and diesel locomotives.

What a lovely pub. And if you sit outside the back,it's part of a very old railway station. Everything is very quirky, and oldy world.Loved it.The beer is very good.

I went in for lunch today with 2 friends. We ordered a gammon steak and 2 cod and chips.

The service was slow. 1 gammon and 1 fish and chips came out. I was told the other cod wpuld be a good delayed as the equipment had broken and was offered my money back. What was I supposed to do, go hungry! So I waited. Both my friends finished their lunch and the young barman was more interested in talking to his friend.

I went up and asked for my meal refund which I recrived but the barman was 'cocky'. He completely missed the situation that 3 of us came in and only 2 had eaten. Getting my money back for the food I didnt have did not rectify or satisfy the situation.

It was appauling service. I wont be going back.

The pub is full of retired wino's and I wouldnt...

On the whole, il give you the benefit of the doubt because you were busy, but one lad who works for you needs vastly retraining. We waited over an hour to get served. And this kid kept saying he'd be with us then proceeded to find any job he could not to serve us. If your designated only to floor duties then say that and ask another colleague to serve us when they are free. Il be the most patient person in the world when ppl are honest with me but if your guna fob me off and lie to me it rubs ppl up the wrong way. Serve the customers you've in the pub before worrying about getting more customers thru the door. Its not...
