My family and I visited your Aberdeen location for dinner this evening. My husband and I had been wanting to come for some time. We were a party of 8 (plus the baby) and arrived around 730pm. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing meals out and we will not be visiting this location again. Upon arrival we were informed that the āinternet was downā and the restaurant would be running cash only. We were sat at a table that only had room for 7 adults and had to ask the waitress if we could get another chair for our 8th person. We orders our appetizers and while the fries and potato skins were very good, the crab dip and bread were both ice cold. We sent them back and the crab dip was very obviously popped in the microwave and the bread was still cold and very dense. There was also zero crab in the dip and we wound up not eating most of it. When the entrees came out we had the following experience:
my husband received the bbq chicken instead of the teriyaki chicken with pineapple that he ordered my sister never received her French onion soup (asked for it to go and it was never brought to her) my chicken for the chicken Marsala was completely raw in the middle. I sent it back and the second piece came out with half cooked and half still pink. I ate the cooked half and left the raw part on the plate. This meal was actually pretty decent minus the raw chicken.
We then decided to order desserts. We ordered 5 brownie sundaes and 4 out of the 5 had no ice cream in them, or so little ice cream that it could not be differentiated between that and the melted whipped cream.. I asked the waitress 3 or 4 times for spoons and she first brought out 3 (we had 5 sundaes) and then brought me forks twice. When I asked again for spoons, she told me she brought them already and pointed to the forks. I told her they were forks, not spoons, she told me verbatim āwe donāt have any more spoons so I just brought these.ā Now, at this point it was 9pm and the restaurant was almost completely empty except for my family. Iām very confused as to how there were no spoons available when there were NO other other customers.
While most of this is a kitchen problem and not a front of house issue, I was very disappointed that at no time was a manager of any sort sent over to apologize or rectify any of the numerous issues we had encountered. No apology, no explanation, no attention paid to the significant number of problems we had during this meal. We were very nice about all of it and were truly not looking for any compensation. However, a simple visit and acknowledgement would have gone very far. My last straw was when the check was brought over, again with no mention of any of the problems, and a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the check.
At this point I was forced to ask for a manager. I have a very long history of food service being a prior waitress, bartender, and front of house manager for several restaurants in my past., and all of this was completely unacceptable and just not good business practice. The manager did discount the crab dip and ONE dessert, and took a percentage off my Chicken dish (only half of it was edible anyway š¤·āāļø), but with no real apology or sincerity involved. My husband and I spend a significant majority of our time eating out and spending the money for good food and good service has never been an issue. I also tend to over tip because i know what it is like to count on gratuity to pay my bills. But this experience left MUCH to be desired. A manager should have been notified when the chicken was raw, dishes were wrong, and forks were offered for what was SUPPOSED to be an ice cream dish. Very disappointed, very frustrated, and will be sure not to recommend this establishment to anyone in the future. Makes me wonder if the internet was really down or maybe some bills arenāt being paid due to lack of income, sub par food, and terrible service. Maybe that explains the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday my husband and I decided on a last minute whim to give this place a go, it was our wedding anniversary and we were heading to a ghost tour in havre de grace that evening, but hadnāt really decided on what to do for dinner. We gave ourselves 2 hours to eat then head to the tour, we arrived here around 5 we were immediately greeted by a nice hostess and sat at a booth in the back. the place but busy but not crazy packed for a Saturday, upon seating we quickly figured out a sports team of kids and parents were dinning along the back wall right beside our booth, typically not a problem but these parents were all sat together and then the kids all together taking up literally the whole back of the restaurant, the parents were drinking and the kids were out of control!!! It was embarrassing!! I felt terrible for their waitress and was honestly confused why no management had not been by to speak with an adult. These kids were out of their seats running around yelling and the parents were acting like it was an adult night out and they didnāt even have children. At one point a young boy came over to our table and was swinging his silverware in the napkin around his head right beside us and my husband yelled at him and he went back to his table it was actually kinda funny because he just kept looking back sad at us šš ok so in the midst of the chaos the guy behind us orders fajitas and holy crap they came out steaming and smelling and looking amazing so we both decided to order the same! THEY TOOK FOREVER!!!! it was like sitting in hell for 30 minutes I was so overwhelmed by these kids I had to pee but didnāt want to walk past the madness š the fajitas finally come out and guess what guys!?? Cold, no steam, not looking too healthy and half a portion of what you would expect for a 27$ dish. I was actually just pissed at this point but trying to hold it together because it was our anniversary and usually our favorite night of the year, but by then we were not interested in the meal at all and told the waitress we would like to pay for our drinks and leave. She was very sweet and understanding and went and got the owner, hereās what I will say about the owner, seems like a stand up guy. I explained the situation and he immediately understood he shook our hands told us how this is a business him and his wife take pride in and he knows they missed the mark tonight. He then took it upon himself to offer us a gift card, at first we were hesitant but did accept his offer. I think it was just a series of unfortunate events this evening and I will say everyone elseās food was looking pretty good so we will definitely give this place another try in the future, maybe on a day kids are all in school...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePros: This is my second time getting food here and must say that this place has some great food. I got a couple of Salmon dinners and a burger meal for my family. The Salmon and Burger were cooked perfectly.
Cons: My order was supposed to be ready by 5:15pm. I get there at 5:10pm and had to wait until about 5:40pm before it was finally ready for pick up. Not a problem.
After receiving my food I found that a few items were missing. I kindly let the young lady at the front counter know that I didn't receive everything. Still not a problem.
Here's the problem. She goes to the back and tells another young woman (who I'm assuming took care of my order in the first place) about the situation. This young woman comes out and says to me "everything is there and you just need to check the bottom corner of the bag" in an annoying tone. Again, I let her know that it's not there.
I give her the receipt and she takes a quick look claiming that I'm only supposed to have one wild rice when it clearly says two. She even tells me that she can reprint the receipt if I have trouble reading it, but this time with more attitude. Um....excuse me? I tell her to calm down and while she claims she's calm, she clearly doesn't know herself. I pulled all the items out of the bag to show her proof and restate what I'm missing.
She walks off and another older woman comes from the back, whom I can only assume was the manager, Comes and asks me what I'm missing. We go over the receipt for the 3rd time, we go through my bag and she clearly sees that I don't have everything. She comments that she doesn't know what's wrong with that young girl today. She then goes to the back and get's me the rest of my things and I'm on my way.
I'm a customer who paid online, with a tip might I add, who came in to get my food like everyone else. If there is a problem with an order, then take it at face value and let's go over the order together to see what the issue is. Instead, I'm called a liar by this young lady. I wish I had got her name, but by describing this story I'm pretty sure that the workers can figure out who it is.
Moral of the story, if you're not feeling well....DO NOT work with customers. Furthermore, do not insinuate that a customer is lying when they are...
