Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Aberdeen

I'm a local door Dasher, and today was the last straw. Had a double order, for smoothies and food, which always looks and smells delicious, the fruit is fresh, enough so, that you can smell it when you walk in. it seems clean, bathrooms are quite clean, and other ppl must think the same, because i get a fair amount of deliveries or dashes from or there. It's always young girls usually one will be working hard, while the others are on the phone or spilling the tea. This morning the girl didn't acknowledge me for 5 min, even tho there's à chime for the door opening. Then she looked at me like I was scum for saying excuse me, and told me my deliveries were rite there like I was dumb. When I told her they're were only smoothies and no food for either order, she again acted like was speaking a foreign language that she had no time for. When I showed her my phone and the orders on it, and all the food that m missing, she said it wasn't on the computer as she pulled the deliveries up, and sucked her teeth like I insulted her and proceeded to take almost 20 min to make the food. And the only reason it was done in that time was because another employee came in and started working, like actually working... Thank her... And this wasn't the first time that the young staff acted like working was inconveniencing there time. I deal with allot of crappy service from crappy ppl but this morning was plain insulting. That being said I'm sure the ownner could pull the tape from this morning and see the whole exchange this morning.... But like I said.. The food looks and smells great, very clean, it's just a shame ppl don't have a work ethic these days. With over 8000 deliveries I've grown pretty numb to crappy service but that was just ridiculous. Another guy walked in behind me to pick up the other day that was there and was able to clean out his car while waiting for them and...

Unfortunately the wait is absolutely horrendous. It seems that no matter what time of day you go the wait is long. I watched nine movie trailers between the time I placed my order and when I walked up to the counter to ask for a status. The employee appeared confused and asked if I placed an order. I showed her the receipt. She went in the back with my receipt and never returned. Total time from when I ordered to when they served me the food I paid for? 24 minutes. Not a joke.

The worst part about this experience was when one of the employees revealed how Tropical Smoothie Corporate taught the store owner a legal way to pay employees less than minimum wage so they rarely hire anyone over the age of 18. When I looked it up online, this is apparently true. Worse, I asked them for the contact info of the store owner so I could send an email to complain. I was told the store owner's information was not to be given out because he is busy golfing every day but if I want to contact him, his name is Eric Metz and he is the same guy who wrote a positive review for his own Tropical Smoothie location.

Sadly this makes me (and you) the victim of what happens when someone pays kids under the age of 18 less than minimum wage. Inferior product and inferior service. This is a franchise that lost my respect and...

I had placed an online order to this new location because I wanted to try it out. I work right across the street from this location so I wanted to see if this would be a good place to frequent before or after work. I ordered an açaí bowl, a pomegranate smoothie, & a Baja chicken wrap to try all the bases they offer. My smoothie is excellent & exactly what I wanted. My açaí bowl is nice & fresh & delicious, unlike any others I’ve tried ever. The only negative thing I have to say is the avocado in the Baja chicken wrap was not ripe & really hard. The wrap itself was really delicious though, I would order this item again if the avocado was a little more ripe. The atmosphere is really nice, warm & welcoming. The staff were all really nice & helped me out when I had questions. What a great place to add...
