If I could give this zero stars I would. Very misleading this IHOP in Maryland is. The dining area is spacious, modern & clean looking but other than that I would rather starve than stop by at this location again. Please continue reading why I promise if you're traveling through you'll want to know & avoid at all costs. Let's begin by location. It is only a minute or so from the highway but hidden at the end of a scary bumpy road behind a bunch of buildings, which many of them are abandoned & boarded up. Next upon entering, although visually it looks very nice, the overwhelming stench of adult human feces filled the air. All the other travelers who entered could be overheard saying that too. Funny though the restrooms didn't smell at all. When we arrived though the place was pretty empty yet they asked us (& then other traveling families who entered) for their name & number and they'd be called when a table was ready. In the mean time the staff, which seemed to consist of only high school kids, just goofed off and could be heard making fun of guests/out of towners. After about 15mins it was our turn to be seated. The hostess was kind-ish, our waitress not so much. She looked at us like we were aliens, a deer caught in headlights. I dont understand because it's a place right off a major highway so I'd assume they see lots of tourists, so why so flabbergasted & rude. We are from Boston, not Mars. Anywho the waitress, although she repeated our order twice & I repeated it 3 times screwed EVERYTHING up. From drinks to food. 3 out of our 4 drinks were not even the types we ordered then when she brought back the correct drinks, she still screwed them up by giving the kids our sodas in kids cups and their chocolate milk in adult cups. The food was the absolute worst part! 50 minutes later our food arrived. While waiting the place didnt have more than 6 tables full and 2 other customers/families seated next to us said they must be screwning with us because everyone else got their stuff before we did yet we were the 1st ones seated and ordered. Then another traveling customer I ran into in the restrooms mentioned she could overhear the staff as they were in the kitchen making fun of us and a another family and that I should check my food because she swears they may have done something to it. Our breakfast/brunch only consisted of items like pancakes, eggs, bacon & toast and a side of onion rings for 2 adults and 2 kids. So why almost an hour to cook/arrive?! Still the best is yet to come. She brought the wrong order for 1 of my kids (supposed to be plain pancakes with a happy face in whip cream & brought double chocolate pancakes, which 1 of my kids only eats plain pancakes) and she argued about wanting to replace them and they should just eat them. Also the eggs were dangerously undercooked (slimey & strings of jelly still) 1 of the toasts were so burnt it was beyond black. Plus our oreo milkshake came was more like water than a thick shake. Terrible experience! The waitress literally gave me this insane attitude and tried arguing with me when I politely stated things were incorrect once again. The hostess, manager and another waiter all could hear my convo with the waitress because they were behind us yet never came over to fix the issue. Even when I asked for the manager the waitress said he was unavailable at that time. To absolutely top it off I ate half my eggs before completely realizing how undercooked they were and within 20 minutes I began feeling soo soo sick. So sick I had to stop 4 times within the next hour at area rest stops. Never ever EVER again would I go to this craphole IHOP in Maryland! I should of went with my instincts and kept driving the couple extra miles to Delaware to stop. You couldn't pay me to eat here again! I've NEVER had such a horrendous resturant experience as I did here. I think our waitress' name was Brianna. Horrible service, horrible food. Shes lucky I was nice and...
Read moreWe visited the IHOP in Aberdeen, MD, and unfortunately, we were not impressed. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. We were first seated at a table, but my mother-in-law preferred a booth. The booth we were taken to was dirty and cramped, so we had to return to the original table. Manager Tammy approached us to apologize and explained that the host was new and unaware the booth hadn’t been cleaned. While we appreciated the apology, we feel that all staff should be properly trained before being put in customer-facing roles. If someone isn’t ready for certain responsibilities, they shouldn’t be assigned to them. It took at least 15 minutes before a server came to our table. Thankfully, our server Tamika was the highlight of the visit—she was kind, professional, and attentive. She took our order, and the wait for our food was about 20 minutes, which felt a bit long for an IHOP. When the food arrived, it wasn’t warm, didn’t taste fresh, the hot sauce had a bad flavor, and the syrup jar was broken. After paying, I asked to speak with a manager again and was greeted by Manager Tammy (not wearing a name tag). I privately shared our concerns. While Manager Tammy had applied a 20% discount to our check, we felt that more could have been done to address the overall poor experience. As regular IHOP customers, we were truly disappointed. The overall service didn’t meet expectations, and we left unimpressed. While we appreciated Manager Tammy listening and acknowledging our concerns, we hope meaningful improvements are made for...
Read moreThe food is good but the service needs work. I visited 2 times this past week and the first time I ordered carry out it was left sitting at the front along with myself for a good 10 minutes. when I started to realize no one was coming to ring me up I had to practically yell for one of the staff to Acknowledge my existence. I was embarrassed to do so but no one seemed to mind. I finally got someone to ring me up (not the person who took my order) when I asked to speak to the manager I was told by the manager that the person up front had to leave for an emergency as if that had anything to do with me. It shouldn’t have Affected me personally from a customer standpoint. It was disappointing but I gave them the Benefit of the doubt. My next visit I wanted to order inside for carry out because I thought I would be able to speak someone but again there was no one up front and I was just left standing up there until I eventually realize no one was coming to check on the front. So I decided to go out into my car and call to see if someone would answer the phone I got hung up on three times. no one ended up answering the phone almost as if they picked up and hung up right away this was well before closing time at least two hours in advance. Needless to say I will never come to this location again and have heard from several other people that this is probably the worst location which is a shame because the food actually was pretty good hopefully they can get their staff situated....
