Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Abilene

It was a warm day today and I needed something ice cold and refreshing. This Sonic is fantastic! The service is very fast even when all the Bays are full. I personally drink Sprite a lot and I particularly love there's because it has just the right amount of carbonation that gives it that perfect! The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's always someone wandering around offering condiments. You will never have the chance to run out of anything because they are right there ready to help. And they have the best specials! Tuesday evening are half-priced cheeseburgers and it's happy hour in the morning until 11 and in the afternoon from 2 to 5 where all the drinks are half price including milkshakes, slushes, and limeades. You can't beat that! A large Sprite, for instance, is only $1.07! I'm so glad it's right down the street! Sometimes you'll get a receipt that has a link to a survey about your visit and if you fill it out online, which you can do on your phone, you will get a free Route 44 drink. And those...

11/5/2024 Final update: It seems Mr Rector is no longer at this location. Under this new individual, my ft long coney and chili cheese fries are sub par, and the 3 other meals were missing the fries. All the sodas were heavy on the carbonation and extremely dry. While it's my fault for not triple checking the order before rolling away, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!

I shall not return.

11/12/2023 Update: I tried the store under presumptive new management, placed an order for 2 burgers and 2 5pc chicken tenders combo meals. I got home and both 5pc meals were missing 2 tenders each for a total of 4. Avoid this store at all cost, it went from bad to worse. Quite frankly, I'm losing all confidence in DL Roger's owned franchises...

I've been using this specific location since it was built. There is no comparison to the way Joel Dodson ran this store, and this will probably be my last visit. 30min waiting on food was unacceptable under Joel. It seems Mr. Rector...

We used the Sonic App to order our meal. The app worked fine; we got our drinks for half price. If you enjoy going to Sonic then you really should use their app.

Service was prompt. Our food was brought out when the app said it would. The lady who brought our order was friendly and professional.

The food was a bit of a problem. We ordered two strawberry slushes. The slushes had an off taste. My wife said that it was probably just city water. I thought that the chemical taste was something else. Whatever it was, neither of us was able to take more than a drink of our slush.

The tater tots my wife ordered were very good, crisp on the outside, soft in the middle. My wife said that her cheeseburger was good. I thought that it looked small. My country steak burger was pretty good, but also on the small side.
