I REALLY wanted to rate this 1 star, but I feel like that would be a little unfair. I came in today (Father's Day) looking for take out. They didn't tell me the wait time, but I figured looking at the line and the orders at the window it wouldn't be longer than 20 minutes... Forty five minutes later I'm still waiting, have made friends with the fellow beside me in line, and am watching an angry father demand a refund because he had been waiting for EVEN LONGER and was still waiting. It took them an HOUR to prepare my food... and admittedly it was pretty good, if lacking a little seasoning.
That being said, I spent WAY longer than than I wanted, and saw there was a severed claw in one of the lobster tanks (The staff knew it was there; I saw one of them grab a lobster for the family shortly after I got there. While not immediately a concern lobster spoils quickly and it really doesn't look good to patrons/customers.) There was also a bone in one of my pieces of fish too, which thankfully I didn't swallow or impale my mouth with.
I also did overhear one of the staff say this was a usual Sunday rush, so if you are looking for food in a hurry (or any amount of time at all) you should order WELL in advance or avoid ordering Sunday altogether. After my experience I definitely won't be...
Read moreI order from either this location or the concord one at LEAST twice a month, it's always been great, but the last two times I've ordered I've been more than disappointed. First the buns are usually delicious thick and tasty, they've been the same for years, I got a dried out burnt potato roll and when I attempted to eat my seafood salad without the bun I found it was mostly lettuce ! Usually it is overflowing and so much that I usually end up saving half. I took a picture because I could not believe the amount, it must seriously be 4 Oz or less. Then our scallops were overfried and soggy, which at $20 for a small did NOT make me happy. My son's clam chowder was too sour to eat(which happens when it's on a steam table for too long),My father's haddock plate was supposed to have salad or tomatoes instead of fries, the woman assured me that they had salad but he received fries anyway. There was just so much wrong with this order and I spent over $85 for a family meal that was a joke. They really have gone down hill fast, I really love the place so maybe I'll attempt to order from the concord location, maybe it's an employee issue, but they aren't going to keep customers the...
Read moreAnother stop on the K&J Retired Persons Clam Chowda Tour, 2019 took us to Twin Seafood Grill in Acton. If you are looking for fine dining when it comes to ambience or decor this is not the place for you. If you are into very good clam chowda and calamari this is the place. The ambience is funky but the food is tasty. The seafood for sale looked much better than that at our local market but we did not buy any. K had a ½ pint of Chowda while I went for the full pint. When I inserted my spoon toward the bottom of the paper pint cup I was impressed by the density of what was below. Lots of various sized clams, some kind of big, some small, but all very fresh. The broth was thin but tasty, potatoes few and far between. Very smooth, earthy taste. The fried calamari was excellent, crisp, hot, and the larger pieces, crunchy. We gave the chowda a 4.75 and the calamari a 5. Will definitely go...
