Terrible restaurant and I have no idea how it survives.
The menu is terrible and prices outrageous. They refuse to let you substitute anything. Not even meat side for a garden salad. Almost any request you give for food, whether it be less salt, no cheese, extra dressing, medium rare, is completely ignored by waitstaff and kitchen and treat you like you are asking for caviar with a silver spoon.
As for their "authentic southern Italian cuisine", as stated on their website, it is anything but. I have been twice and family members been 3 times and each time the quality of the food was dismal at best. I would have to say some food at Olive Garden is better than what Bela Famiglia offers. The quality was poor. The vegetables were wilted if served raw or undercooked if served cooked. Their 'authentic' dishes are clearly poorly done Americanized junk.
Service and waitstaff? Horrific, rude, inattentive, and seem to lack experience. Each time I was treated like I was not worth their time and burden. To try and get someone to take your order was a challenge in itself. I am not looking for servers in suits in gloves using a silver platter, I'm looking for someone who will simply not treat me I'm bothering them.
The owners and manager are not much better. He came around asking about the food and my friend gave a polite but honest opinion on how she did not like it. He responded by being rude and defensive and did not offer anything to help solve the solution. When I went to pick up takeout once they glared at me and said as little they could in a degrading tone.
All they have going for them is a nice interior and exterior, but if you plan on eating I would recommend you do not choose...
Read moreNever going back!!!! This was special occasion for our family and the waiter knew about it as he overheard our conversation. So when we arrived we had to wait several minutes before being greeted. Ok it happens but they weren't busy we arrived before the dinner rush hour. Things seemed to start out ok. After the waiter had already served our appetizer he sold us on another appetizer their crab cake special so we ordered and placed our main dish order. I know the waiter took the order as he echoed all three main dishes. Shortly our 2nd appetizer arrived. Then time passed. Well over a half order. The table next to us who arrived later than we did were almost done with their dinner before ours even arrived. Then our waiter walks up and says So what was your order again? I was stunned. We had to reorder and wait even longer for the order to be cooked and served. It eventually arrived and the food was good not great. Honestly I lost my appetite due to poor customer service. What made me even more upset was the lack of empathy and NO OFFER FOR AN APOLOGY!!!! Seriously how can you be so insensitive. Further no mention of congratulations on the special occasion. That wasn't it.... when the waiter delivered the food he asked anything else I can do for you and I said yes can you please refill my water.. ..he never did. We flagged a different waiter for the water. Absolutely horrendous. Let me add for someone who is in their 60s I've never experienced such horrible service in my life. ...
Read moreHorrible! 4 of 8 meals came out wrong. No one offered to fix them, including the manager. He delivered the food and we pointed out that wasn't how we ordered them. He didn't care. The order was all messed up. A waitress that wasn't ours who was also delivering our food apologized, dropped the food on the table and walked away. The manager and our waitress were holding a baby the whole time, rather than taking care of their customers. We sat with empty drinks and horrible food. We then got charged $16 because we brought in a birthday cake! I went up to the manager and very calmly expressed my displeasure. The manager still didn't really care that our meals were wrong or that we were unhappy. There was a customer standing near us that said "you are much calmer than I would be if this happened to me, that is just wrong!". I asked the manager when I was leaving if he was the manager or the owner. He said he was the manager, so I asked for the owner's name. He then told me he was the owner, so apparently he doesn't even know who he is. I tried speaking to the restaurant several times, with no response.
