I was excited to try Biscuit Belly and we made it on opening day! We were greeted with a friendly smile and menu at the door. They were well stocked with staff. Our order was promptly taken and received, our food came out before our drinks.
Everyone was eager to stop and ask if we had all we needed throughout our dining experience. The young gal offering to remove our finished dishes was beyond prompt, almost to a fault, but sweet and well meaning.
Knowing it's their first day and that time, training, and getting all the cooking techniques down will improve I still have to give it 3 stars, though I considered giving a 2 star review.
I expected a manager to stop by our table and talk with us about our experience after sharing with a staff person that the biscuit I ate was over cooked on the bottom and a bit doughy in the middle still. (My meal came with two biscuits.)
She was a little surprised when I asked if she would like feedback. She immediately took the feedback to the person I'm guessing was the manager and I'm sure they were addressing the issue right away with the cooks. So with all that said there is a heaping of grace given to this situation.
We didn't pack up and leave too quickly after, so there was ample time for one of the many staff to have come to check on the situation and/or to offer to replace the 2nd biscuit and gravy part of my meal with one of better quality.
I'm certain they will work out the kinks but at $40+ for breakfast I'm not sure I'll be back for anything more than the bonuts. (They were amazing!)
The biscuits and gravy were good but definitely left room for improvement and more protein at $10 for the plate.
My husband had a breakfast sandwich which he enjoyed but wasn't excited about the price tag for his sandwich. ($9 I believe.)
The chai latte was also good, but it will have to remain a treat at $5 a pop.
Some observations: Be forewarned, their floors were quite slippery! But the restaurant is very nice, they have a nice seating area outside, and even with all the hustle and bustle of the many staff and as the restaurant filled with more visitors the atmosphere was super calm and peaceful and I really like the bench seating. It is super comfortable.
Lastly, on the way out the greeter at the door gave a goodbye greeting to my husband but I was about four or five steps behind him. Unfortunately she was radio silent as I left. As a business owner myself I would be sure to thank everyone for supporting my business, especially on opening day. But again, that is just an observation, not a deal killer for me as I know she said something to my husband and was pleasant during our entrance with a warm welcome.
Remember, try the bonuts, they were...
Read moreI ordered on Uber eats for breakfast for my momma and I this morning (5/31/25) Honestly, we haven't tried this place because our friends said the Biscuits were dry...we were born in the south and are very particular about our Biscuits and if you have biscuit in the name of your restaurant, then you better have some pretty darn good Biscuits.
Our issues were the following: My order of biscuit Bennie- the eggs were beautiful, wonderfully poached! The "scratch made" Biscuits definitely did not seem scratch made, they were very bready and tight. The smoked gouda mornay was very gloopy and more like a pudding consistency. The brisket is nothing like their photo. (Born in texas so I know how brisket should be) this brisket felt like they sliced it up before cooking and just threw the meat in a pan to cook...should be slow roasted...it was waayyy too dry and had more of a texture like a ham steak. The part that made me sad was there was no Pablano tomato sauce, and that's one of the main reasons why I ordered this dish.
My mom's order: she had the Mama's boy. She said the combination of their flavors for this dish worked very well. She felt the same way about the Biscuits though, bready and tight. The fried green tomato seemed like it was frozen before being cooked. Overall it was okay but she wouldn't get it again.
I ordered a side of cheese grits as well. The grits had the right texture but absolutely no seasoning, so if you order it, make sure you have some salt and pepper on hand.
I also ordered two sides of the loaded tater tots. This was the only part of our order that we could seriously get behind. Amazing! We chowed down on those so fast and are very pleased with the perfectly crunchy exterior and creamy cheesy interior. Very delicious and we highly recommend those.
Overall, it was a huge let down...especially because we spent around $80 for this breakfast.
I'd like to say we won't order again in the future...but we may give them another try at the actual restaurant to see if it's worth the price.
I'll attach some photos below, I'm sorry, I forgot to get pix of my mom's food before she...
Read more1st visit summary: Arrived at 10:59am Saturday morning. Line was out the door. Menus are provided at entrance so you can make your choices before reaching the register. Line moved pretty quickly and cashier was friendly. Was concerned there wouldn't be a table available by the time we got done ordering but there was. There was additional seating outside on a nice patio as well. Drinks are self serve I ordered coffee it was really good. Food arrived at table at 11:50am (The line to order took longer than the food preparation). We ordered The Gravy Train (subbed mushroom gravy for chocolate gravy) so we could sample all the gravies. My favorite was the hot brown gravy. It's a Gouda mornay sauce which tasted to me like Gouda Mac n cheese sauce. Very savory and delicious. I will probably order the Hot Brown next time just based on this gravy alone. The other gravies were also tasty. This was my first time having chocolate gravy it tasted to me like warm brownie batter or warm chocolate pudding. I liked it and will order it again for a dessert. For my entree I had the Mama's Boy. The fried green tomato was delicious. I enjoyed the fried chicken and the pimento cheese on it as well. If you're Southern you might be used to a thicker pimento cheese, this was more saucy but the taste delivered. My husband ordered the Fire in Your Belly because he loves Nashville Hot chicken. He loved it. PLEASE NOTE: they sprinkled chives on both of our dishes. It's not mentioned in the description on the menu and it's not a big deal except we hate them and spent some time picking them off before we were able to enjoy our meal. If you don't like chives be sure to tell them so you don't get the chive surprise. We will tell them next time, again no biggie just wanted to mention it. Overall, really good food, beautiful presentation, clean and friendly atmosphere. Worth the line and the cost. A fun breakfast spot! Our total was about $50 for the appetizer, two biscuits, 2 drinks, and a side of thick cut bacon. We enjoyed our visit and will be back...
