I’ve been to Papi’s Spanglish Restaurant twice now, and overall, I really like this new spot. The food is high-quality, and the flavors are fantastic! I genuinely want to see them succeed, so I’m sharing my honest experience to help them improve.
On my first visit, everything was excellent. My husband ordered a chicken chimichanga, and I had the chicken torta sandwich. Both were delicious, but my torta was missing the cabbage. I hadn’t requested it without cabbage, but it wasn’t a big deal—just a small detail worth noting.
On my second visit, however, things didn’t go as smoothly. We ordered two sampler platters ($20 each) and specifically requested the chicken chimichangas with cheese on top, just like we enjoyed during our first visit. Unfortunately, we were served burritos instead. The burritos weren’t our favorite, and we had really been looking forward to the chimichangas. When we brought this to the waiter’s attention, the issue wasn’t resolved. To make the best of the situation, we asked for cheese dip to go on top of the burritos, since that’s how we had wanted the chimichangas, but we were charged $6.50 for the queso dip. Adding to the frustration, the receipt listed chimichangas, so it was clearly a kitchen mix-up that wasn’t addressed.
That said, the food is undeniably flavorful, and I believe this restaurant has great potential. Being a new establishment, I understand there may be some hiccups as they get everything running smoothly. I’m having a hard time deciding between 4 and 5 stars because the food is truly delicious, but the service and order accuracy need improvement. I hope they focus on those areas because this could easily become a go-to spot for many. I look forward to returning in the future and seeing...
Read moreFound this place on Google and was drawn to it because of the name. Invited my sister and nephew and we headed up to the place. Place is nice and a young man, Ryan, took care of us. He was awesome and very accommodating! My sister (picky eater #1) ordered the Cuban sandwich - she loved it. My nephew (picky eater #2) had the Wet Burrito - he loved it. I ordered the Mofongo with the shrimp - oh my goodness! I was surprised how good it was! Then the owner came to our table to ask how everything was. We were chatting a bit and joking around. Very nice! I was stunned that he actually cares what and how food is prepared and presented. He confessed not using seed oils for cooking! Whaaatttt??!! No wonder his food tastes better. He believes in food cooked with healthier ingredients than any restaurants I've been to. He's got my business! See you next...
Read moreYou have to try this restaurant out! I’m probably going to step on some toes here, but lately I have been feeling like all of the Mexican food that I get from the local restaurants kinda taste the same. Everything that we ordered had a deliciously unique taste and was obviously high-quality. No corners cut here. It’s worth going just for the chips and salsa alone! Delicious handmade salsa and warm tortilla chips. These were literally the best chips I have ever had. I got the chicken chimichanga and my wife got the chicken torta and again, literally, they were the best we have ever had anywhere. Everybody was warm and inviting and my wife and I had a wonderful lunch! If you’re in the area please check out this local restaurant; you won’t be...
