This review is in reference to restaurant #29678 located at 100 Princeton Boulevard, Adairsville, Georgia 30103-2628.
This location was undergoing renovations to the interior of the restaurant and thus, only the drive through was open. Both ordering lanes were open and I had no problem placing my order. The lady taking my order and my money was quick, proficient and easy to understand. The young woman at the second window was also pleasant and asked me to pull into a designated parking spot as they “needed time” to cook my burger.
My receipt was timed at 5:56 PM (order #65). I paid for my order and pulled into the designated parking spot. and waited. In approximately 5 minutes a second car pulled into the other “designated drive through” waiting spot.
I began to wonder what was taking so long. Five minutes in a “fast food” drive through is an eternity by today’s standards. I had been waiting over eight minutes…then nine…then ten.
At approximately 6:06 PM I finally saw a McDonald’s employee coming with not one, but two bags! Ah-ha! Instead of bringing my food when it was ready, they had thought to save themselves a trip and bring both orders at one time.
Now, it was a cool evening in north Georgia, and had been drizzling earlier. So I don’t blame the employee for only wanting to make one trip outside.
I am, however, upset that my food was no longer hot. Especially the french fires.
McDonald’s in known around the world for its french fries. They are the standard to which other fast food chains aspire. They are the acme of french fries.
But only when they are hot. Mine were not only cool, if not cold, they were a bit stale.
If the dining area had not been under construction, I would have gone inside to seek redress. I decided instead to make the best of a bad situation.
However, after eating less than half of the container, I couldn’t stand to finish the cold, stale fries and decided to try the burger.
Now I had a cold, but greasy burger in my hands, and a grease spot on my seat, perhaps on my pants. It was dark by 5:30PM, and I had no way of ascertaining the degree to grease seepage.
One bite of the burger told me that the bun was wet. And that this was not a double quarter pound cheeseburger, it was a double quarter pound ONION burger!
Your website describes the double quarter pound cheeseburger as being “topped with slivered onions”. This burger was loaded with huge hunks of onion. I do not use hyperbole when I state that the very first bite of the burger resulted in my teeth dragging forth pieces of onion that had to be well over an inch long and almost one-quarter of an inch wide.
Holding a greasy, cold, onion heavy burger while driving in the dark was not a pleasant experience. Eating the same was not feasible, or appealing.
I do understand that mistakes occur, and that in any set of events there is a bell-shaped-curve of individual experiences. Let us just agree that my incident at the Adairsville, Georgia, McDonald’s was more than two standard deviations to the left of the mean.
Lastly, this missive in no way is meant to bring disdain or humiliation upon the staff of this McDonald’s location. As I stated above, the two women working in the drive through windows were exceptionally pleasant and professional. “Someone” made a decision to not take my order outside until the next person’s order was also ready. This resulted in the unappetizing coolness of the food, especially the french fries. I’m not sure how or why my burger was so greasy or onion covered, but if either food item had been decent, I could have overlooked the failings...
Read moreNice clean facility with up to date modifications and modern decor. The staff is filled with privileged, spoiled disrespectful kids that have no desire to represent the brand Mcdonalds, or their hometown. We went in to use the rest room then to order. In the bathroom there were two stalls, two people were in front and one behind. I had stopped because I really needed a biological break. The two ladies in front didn't take forever but were not very fast in trading out from one stall. Two more came in, I let my daughter go before me because the other stall never opened up. Upon further inspection, i notice smoke in the stall. An older woman seemed very flustered, and I let her go because i was absolutely curious as to whom would sit there smoking while they heard so many people needing to use the restroom. But that lady came out and i finally had to go. There was a mom and a child behind me. The baby was crying. We were all a little rattled by this. I came out of the stall and still no exit from the other. I slowly washed my hands and they finally exited the stall. It was two young teenage girls one red head and a little blondie. They were about to leave without washing their hands, and I confronted them. I told them it was very rude to hear all the other ladies needing to use the restroom and continue to smoke to go outside. "Umm I was using the bathroom Noone was smoking." I retorted "You could tell me you didn't care, but you can't lie. The smoke was coming out of your stall. It's rude and selfish." I then left. I thought the drama was over as I saw them leave the restroom and take a seat near the restroom. We then witnessed a moment when my mother of a teen mode was triggered into almost insanity, as I saw a sloppy young teenage Mcdonalds worker scream and berate a co-worker 35-40 years her senior in front of customers. We were all concerned. She was told that another older woman was a Manger too, where she again screamed that she didn't care. Being told to not scream because of customers only escalated the situation. The older woman apparently really needed her job to deal with the bullying from that kid and not give her a loving spanking in which she desperately needed. This girl was covering the front taking food to the counter. She would throw in anger the bags of food on the counter calling out numbers with the worst attitude. She did not wait to make sure everything was correct or that food may be needed to add to it. We were to all just guess that was our entire order or wait for lemon-face to come back and say "what?" In all of the nasty kitchen drama I noticed the two girls peek around the corner and run to the back of the kitchen hoping to not be seen by me. They worked for McDonalds! Not old enough to buy vapes or tobacco but smoking in the bathroom. We took our food got in the car and saw that it was definitely not "made our way. " Only on road trips or when in desperate need of caffeine do I stop at this institution hoping it will be different. But this clean nice little commercial area of Alabama had the nastiest service with managers with their hands tied allowing snotty little girls to rule the roost. The older adult lady needs a medal for self control and a raise for having to babysit these kids. Southern sweet tea definitely sweet, southern hospitality not on the menu. But guess what, it was my birthday and I got a puppy on the trip and sonic made it better later in...
Read moreI had stopped here on my way back home from Myrtle Beach recently and received a good burger so I visited again. I have high blood pressure so when I eat out,I order No Salt, perfectly capable of adding my own Seasoning if I want. I ordered a Double Quarter pounder meal and it was prepared to my taste and was good! Andrew helped make sure No Salt was on grill and not in Fry bin so No Salt on Fryes! I really appreciate this! Evidently I have concluded not all McDonald's are the same.It really does depend on the crew! Update...stopped again,Renee was very helpful keeping Salt off my burger and new fries w/o Salt! Update 7/10 Stopped by again for breakfast,I got two sausage, egg, cheese Mcmuffins and an unsweetened Tea. Everything was fresh and Tea was good and strong! Very friendly people.I will go back.Jeremy took my order enjoyed talking to him.UPDATE 12/28/23...I really hate to leave this but hopefully management can figure what's going on! I am Diabetic and have drank Unsweetened Tea for over 30 years and don't drink Sodas either! I know when the Unsweet Tea in lobby has sugar in it even a little bit.The drive-thru is good!! As a Customer and Diabetic that can recognize Sugar by the taste since I don't do sugar in drinks, I think that I can request the Unsweet Tea that I think is alright across counter for drive- thru. I would suggest washing out container very good if container had sugar accidentally in it before! Is there not Cameras watching employees making food and drinks? What I am curious about, is why is it the lobby only Unsweet Tea and not the drive-thru unsweet Tea too? This has happened 2 days in a roll. The only thing I drink is unsweetened Tea with no artificial sweetners for 30+ years or water! Seriously drinking Sugar can be extremely harmful to a Diabetic even in low amounts!! Update 1/8/24 Unsweetened Tea was good in lobby! I was told that somone on 3rd night/shift was using wrong tea bags, some Tea bags have sugar already in it. I asked if color coded, she said yes! Mgr said someone was just hitting the sugar button while making the Unsweetened Tea! Glad it has been taken care of! Update 2/24/24 Awesome Unsweetened Tea in Lobby! Thx Update 5/11/24 I went for Breakfast(2 sausage/egg McMuffins,Apple pie and Unsweetened Tea).Soon as I walked in I was told to use Kiosk.I asked and employee said short handed on people. I am older and don't like using the Automation.I usually have Dietary Restrictions.I tried 3X and then machine told me to insert Credit card. I just don't want to do that because some Machines store Information and could lead to problems! While there another younger lady with a kid didn't want or know how to use Kiosk like me and kept asking me how to use it I watched employee show her how to use it. But while we Struggled, same employee took an order at counter! I finally gave up and Walked out. I am really thinking about selling my Stock in this company! Why not have both full service and kiosks! How is this more efficient if public don't know how to use machines. Update 6/27/25 Friendly people and Good Customer Service. My food was prepared how I like it according to my dietary needs! The burgers was great, had no Salt and not over cooked!! The unsweetened Tea was awesome and...
