This is a complicated review after a very mixed experience at this restaurant.

TLDR: We were here for 3 hours for a meal with a toddler because of extraordinarily slow service. Other encounters with staff were very pleasant and drinks/food was good despite service so slow that we began to feel it was cruel.

We came here with our extended family (7 adults and 1 toddler) for a once-a-month dinner party. We never complained and that may have been a part of the issue. We were all consistently kind despite being visibly despairing about the time it took to get appetizers/drinks/entrees. On top of all of that, it took over 20 minutes for us to receive a bill after asking and another 20 minutes to get our cards back after immediately giving our cards over. The restaurant did provide some compensation for the circumstances but we left nearly in tears with a toddler who was trying to sleep on the ground.

I ordered the Cobb salad, my wife ordered the southwestern salad. Both were very well presented and were high quality. Drink would have been wonderful if they weren't so late that we could not enjoy them at a reasonable time in the meal. I'm unaware if the issue was a new server, short-staffed kitchen, or an issue at the restaurant. We were provided no explanation of the circumstances or context of the issues, but silently received a comp on some items.

Management had a couple of interactions with us and our baby as she explored the restaurant under supervision. Each encounter was quite sweet and engaged. The management were kind to us, talked to my daughter with kindness, and were super accommodating.

I really don't know how to express my dissatisfaction without being unfair to those that attempted to make the meal special and/or more tolerable. I can't say that we will ever be back after this experience... We are driving home and just feel upset. I hope the restaurant improves and whatever happened to us doesn't happen to...

Dined here last night for the first and last time. I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant is really in a basement of the country club. Opening the door to a set of cement stairs leading into a dark, windowless room is not inviting at all. I looked at their website and the photos did not show this. The view of the golf course is nice, but it would have been much nicer from the upstairs level. There was only one other table seated inside when we arrived. The food was tasty, which is why I am giving a second star in my rating. The server was nice, but needs more experience. The prices are so high for what they offer it is laughable. $36 for a "whole chicken" which turned out to be a cornish game hen in reality. I was not pleased because I was expecting an actual chicken. My aunt ordered a sandwich that came with cold fries. A few minutes later, a woman at the only other table complained about her fries as well and sent them back. The bald gentleman with glasses and a beard was rude to her when she complained and it was embarrassing to watch. When he ended up bringing us our dessert, he was rude to my aunt when she requested a second plate and fork so we could share it. He really needs to speak more appropriately to customers. I finally saw this restaurant after living nearby for years, so it was an opportunity to check this place off my list. I do not plan on ever...

The location is beautiful and the food is really good. That is the only positive thing I have to say. I had rather high hopes for this restaurant, good reviews and at a country club with outdoor seating.

I had reservations via open table and we were seated right away. I heard one hostess say to another Richard again? And a shoulder shrug was given. We were seated at a nice table outside but had to open the umbrella ourselves and it was slightly tricky. We waited 10 minutes for our server order drinks, soup and food right then and there.

The soup came before we had drinks, silverware even water. The server was NO WHERE in sight. I asked another server who was literally just standing there and it was as if I had asked for his first born. Then ad we are eating I recieved a phone call from the restaurant asking if I was still coming for our reservation. I told her, we are here eating in the patio, she apologized and just hung up.

The food then came out before we got the drinks. Luckily the food was good. We saw the waiter one more time I had to find someone else to take the check for payment who took it to my server and left me standing there.

We live 8 minutes away and I would have loved for this to become a go to spot but we will not...

We made a last minute dinner reservation on Saturday and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our decision. For whatever reason we always looked at Fox and Turtle but then ended up picking somewhere else. We are happy we finally decided to not overlook this restaurant. Our cocktails were good (a little sour for our taste, but still flavorful). We got the cheese curd app which was fresh out of the fryer and gooey. Dipping sauces were a nice addition too. I got the crab stuffed white fish which was perfectly cooked and delicious. My fiancé got the prime rib dinner medium rare. His dinner came out perfectly cooked and also delicious. We got the chocolate cake for dessert which was massive and well worth the price (we ended up taking half of it home). While we were at Fox and Turtle there was also a wedding, where we saw everyone of the patio. Despite the location being busy with a wedding, all of their guests, and a fairly packed restaurant, we were very impressed with the quality of our dishes, the attentiveness of our serves and the overall enjoyable experience. Most places might struggle with so many things going on but fox and turtle and their impeccable staff truly made our evening enjoyable and because of that we will be back again.

When we sat down, our server told us that the food was amazing, that of course he would say that, but that really, everyone says it's amazing. After the meal, we really had to agree with him. I wouldn't have thought to look to a country club for such a quality meal, but with a little help from Yelp, we decided to try it out. We arrived pretty late and I'm pretty sure the three of us were the only customers still at the restaurant, so they led us to a booth and made sure we had everything we wanted. We ordered sliders, a burger, and a chicken club sandwich. They took a little while to come out, but with such a good playlist jamming away as we talked, passing the time was easy. When the food did come, we were pretty amazed. The portions were very generous and everything looked fantastic. The burger was rare (as I had ordered), the chicken juicy, and the sliders flavorful. The sides of fries were well seasoned and fresh, and really, everything was great. In the end, we were extremely happy to find such a good place open late and exactly where we needed it to be. The portions were large and the prices were exactly what you'd expect based on quality/size. I will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely "GREAT" would describe my dining experience at Fox & Turtle! It started with an attentive, personable and warm welcome by two hostesses, and a quick seating with our 5:30 reservations. Our waiter and waitress (one was being trained by the other) fully explained the menus (two Restaurant Week menus, and their regular menu), and a full two page extensive beer menu. Off the Restaurant week menu I ordered the grilled salmon, my wife had the Itasca chicken, and our dinners began with two large salads, and ended with tasty and elegantly prepared and presented deserts (flourless chocolate cake - peanut butter cookie) . Both meals were large portions and extremely tasty. What added to our dining experience was the friendliness of the staff, from the host to the hostess, waiter and waitress, and busboys, that always adds so much to an evening out. They also have weekly specials too!
