My family has been coming to this restaurant ever since Allen the owner opened up. He used to overlook and manage the restaurant with so much passion and the best customer service we've ever experienced. Unfortunately today and about a month ago I noticed a huge change in the food tastes ,and Change can be a blessing and a curse . Noted a change in the food tastes and oily texture with the lo mien and noodles. The orange Chicken didn't look or taste like chicken and on top of that it had pieces of just the bread type layer and nothing inside. Whatever that was was not chicken texture and couldn't consume it!!! The rice seems extremely oily and all you taste is the oil and no seasoning. I noticed a huge difference, The soup like it used to only broth and 2 chunks of chicken and mostly white rice no seasoning or flavor. Even the smoothies don't taste as good as they once did the size is smaller. The teriyaki chicken was delicious fresh chicken and egg rolls, Where great. Combination fried rice was oily and tasteless with burnt rice pieces as well. I'm extremely disappointed and from being a great consistent customer for years, I didn't expect to ever go through this. Terrible experience I was made to wait longer then expected, I didn't complain figured food would be made fresh and not rushed. I was mistaken, I do hope Allen can look into this my mom told me he used to cook aswell, I wish this restaurant well and do hope it can be analyzed and improved like it once...
Read moreToday was the first time in almost 5 years since we had Hoy’s for takeout. We used to be within blocks of the restaurant but we moved back in 2018 about 20 minutes west of there which is why we haven’t ordered Hoy’s in close to 5 years. We currently live in western Cook County & we have several Chinese restaurants in our area but their quality & value isn’t the greatest & has since gone down hill. Since I was out in Elmhurst area today I thought of getting Hoy’s for our lunch/dinner today hoping it was still the same quality it was years ago & fortunately it was. The quality and quantity of the food you get is the best around that everyone in our household agrees on. I usually order the Orange Chicken at the restaurants in my areas here & lately it’s become tough & gamey with the quality going down & the price up. Hoy’s Orange Chicken on the other hand, was tender, delicious & plentiful. Currently there is no indoor dining there & it looks to be just takeout & delivery. The staff is nice & friendly as well. HIGHEST recommendation for Chinese food in that area & even though it’s about 20 mins away from us, we might still make it our ‘go to’ place for great...
Read moreThis place was good the first time I ordered, the second time it was ok... so I didn't order for a while, my job ordered it for everyone recently and it was the worst, couldn't complain because it was free. While I ordered after that experience AGIAN ,..As I should not have, i see that they they make up rules for their coupons ( cant get a free item unless your order is more than the allotted amount on the coupon and its after taxes AND delivery..... And delivery has a twist too it goes by color zones , web delivery is $3 per the website and $2 if you call in BUT I AM STILL IN THE SAME ZONE and I called you the web should be cheaper as it is quicker RIGHT ... After all this to think my job spends hundreds of dollars for functions from this place as well as we individually or from here weekly. I will be sure to say NO the next time and let them know...
