Read moreFirst time visiting this location. The pictures and reviews on google was the reason i came. This location been open for 11 months. The good reviews seem like it's coming from friends and family. Now that i am reading through and comparing to the experience i had. Let's start with Customer service. Welcoming and friendly. Love how Chef Willy came to my table and welcome us. The restaurant is small. Only 3 tables can fit. Per the owner they are in the works in expanding the location. FOOD REVIEW: Tamal, Tallarin Saltado, Arroz con pollo, Papa A La Huancaina, Ceviche, Arroz con Camarones Mixto, Kids Meal - Chicken, Fries & Rice, Chicha Morada, Lucuma Ice Cream - The food only is good on the pictures. There is no flavor. Hoping it was only one dish. Continue to order more. Sadly all the dishes mentioned had no flavor. Especially to even compare to our Peruvian Cuisine. The Ceviche had a gallon of Lime Juice. Seem like a Ceviche Soup. The Pork Tamales - Not shredded pork, there was 4 chuncks. The Maza is pale and dry. The kids meal -My child who is 8 didn't even eat it. Felt like going to a friends house who just started to learn how to cook last week. I'm sorry customer service is there. But the food just seems good in pictures only. There is NO Anticuchos or Pollo A La Brasa Here. Just FYI if that's what you are looking for. Trust me there are other Peruvian Restaurants Located in the North Side of Chicago that are exquisite. *Don't let the pictures and Friends/Family 5 Star Reviews Fool you like...
Read moreThe restaurant is a cute and cozy private owned place in a awkward space. Kudos for trying to run a business here. They have a candle burning to mask the smell of old plumbing issues. This was the worst part of going here. The door needs to be replaced. It reminds me of a old city building with a door that doesn't ever lock. The sandwich had great texture to it. It lacked components of flavor..especially if comparing to the traditional flavors. Salsa criollo was plainly water washed onions with light seasoning.no aji Amarillo. No lime. Causa had good flavor overall. Aji Verde needs more flavor. Take notes from rios de sudamerica down the block. Chicha was made right but tasted wrong. Tasted a bit like bad apple on the aftertaste. Maybe bit more pineapple. I am a master at making chicha morada. Nobody will argue this of me. Peruvian or not. I like that it wasn't kool-aid sweet. The ice cream also has right flavor but sticky texture as if it was refrozen. The grand child working the register needs bit more personality when being the face you speak to when walking in or your business will fail with regular clients. I will try again in 2 months and see how it is.thanks. sincerely, your...
