I'd heard a lot of praise for this place, so I finally made it in. Unfortunately, the food was bland, the service was less than bland. Though they were nice, they were not very attentive, and shut down the drink machine halfway through our meal, meaning empty cups for the remainder. There was hair in my food. The chicken needed a lot more sauce, it was dry. The rice was too dry as well. The atmosphere was decent, with a fishtank too small to fit the enormous fish trying to swim within it, and there was the discordance of Jeopardy playing in the background. Typos in the menu are further hints at how this place could benefit from greater attention to detail, and when asking the waitress a question about a meal, she directed me to a picture of the food that simply didn't exist. While pricing was decent, there was something fishy with the tip, as the total wasn't changing as expected when adjusting it, almost as if they were trying to tax the tip as well or something. Unfortunately, while I wanted to like this place, it doesn't reflect the value I'm used to. I am grateful to them for what service they did provide us though, we were already bushed before we even made it in. It's a decent place, but I don't see myself...
Read moreI've only written two reviews my entire life, but this was possibly the worst restaurant experience ever. So many things were "off", but I'll mention a couple of highlights. I picked an Entree that the menu said was cooked only in Hoisin sauce. I have been cooking with this sauce for 38 years. It was served to me in the traditional brown, salty soy sauce. I told my server and the manager there was no hoisin in it, as I would most certainly know the difference. It instead was salty, soggy, and had a bitter aftertaste. She came back to tell me that it is cooked with "many" sauces, with "maybe" a teaspoon of hoisin. False advertising. The menu again says," Cooked in Hoisin". There wasn't a drop of hoisin in it.....she did not offer to remake it, OR to take it off my bill. My Entree came with soup, rice, and hot tea. I was not offered any hot tea at any point. When I received my check, I noticed that there was an extra charge of sixty cents. I asked why? ...I had two little tiny soft won tons floating in hot water as my soup, (That came WITH my meal) ,...and they charged me THIRTY cents PER noodle!! This was beyond...
Read moreDine In: As I walk in I see I'm the only person, not to be greeted but asked if it was a take out order. Told this waitress no and she said you can sit anywhere. So I chose a booth just to wait for my menu and drink order. Only person in the place and you don't bring me silverware. The second waitress whos turn it obviously wasnt to wait on me walked by and gave me my silverware and said, "..because I care about you" and then left as it was the end of her shift. The food was great. My eggdrop soup was served prior to my entree, both of which were hot, with ample portions in a combination plate. The food was fresh as each veggie had its own flavor. The steamed rice was light and fluffy. Again as I'm the only one who is at thos place at 2:00 PM on a Wednesday, I never got a refresher on my water that now stands 1/8th full with no ice. -2 for the neglectful waitress, +5 for the restaurant itself, +1 for the kind waitress who did what she didnt have to do to make my experience that much better. For a grand...
