Balboni Bakery — Restaurant in Agawam

What can I say?! Vienna Bread, Star Bread, Bread Sticks, Angel Wings! Whatever you try, you can't go wrong! My grandmother used to go there all the time-- and just about everyone else we knew did too!

My husband and I stopped in this past Sunday to pick up Vienna Bread and Bread Sticks (special request from our youngest grandson to go with his birthday dinner). Needless to say, I also bought Angel Wings.

When I entered the bakery an older woman greeted me. I mentioned that it was my first time here and she walked me through all of the breads and pastas. I bought two loaves of star bread and she gave me free bread sticks. She then let me see the back of the shop and I was delighted to see a classic bakery setup, with her husband putting fresh rolls in the oven.

I stopped by to get some bread and walked out with bread, marinara sauce, and a full heart! Mae told me all about her family history with the bakery and was so lovely to chat with. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this place before, but I will no longer be purchasing my sandwich bread from anywhere else.
