Vincitore was a restaurant that my fiancee saw on a Facebook Mom Group page and thought we would like it. We decided to try them out since it was highly recommend by the group members. Upon arriving, we loved the small, yet elegant feeling the restaurant gave off. Although it was empty, we enjoyed the decor and the atmosphere right away. Our waiters were nice, but I felt wanting more from the customer service. It just felt flat. Don't get me wring, they all were nice, but the waiters were lacking smile and charisma... something I'd expect from the restaurant's decor style. Nevertheless, we placed our order. We started out with the calamari ( like most of our restaurant visits) and it was okay. The squid was tought at times and inconsistent, but iverall okay. For our entree's, my wife ordered the linguini pescatore and I ordered the cioppino. I decided to add linguini to mine since I like the pasta with it. Both dishes were great. We very much enjoyed them. I felt my dish was a bit overpriced. I say this because although, both dishes were different, they almost were very much the same dish. The flavor was different, but no so different to cost me about 6 dollars more for my added linguini. We do have to admit, their table bread is delicious. Much better than most places we have visited. We then decided to come back a week later with the family this time..I ordered the pescatore again and it was delicious once again. That can't be said for the other dishes. My fiancee ordered a mushroom pasta that was missing flavor and her mom's carbonara was not what we expected. At the end we oredered the Cannoli for dessert and for being our first ever cannoli it was not what we hoped for. The cream filling was just ok, but the shell was not edible. It was hard as a rock. We expected this light crunchy shell and we got a hard thick pastry. It just wasn't what we wanted. That said, we still enjoy this place for their good atmosphere and options. It might not be our go to place for italian food, but it's certainly a nice place to sit down and enjoy your dinner with good company. We've only been here twice and one day it was great, but the other was just okay. I'd give it about a 3.5 overall rating, but I like to give them the benefit of potentially being much better on our next visit so I'm going to give it a 4/5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVincitoreās is an ITALIAN TREASURE in Agoura Hills. Itās right up there with the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican, the Coliseum, David, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Mt. Etna, Cinque Terre, Venice Canals, Almafi Coast, Tuscany vineyards....okay Iām getting carried away. But you get my point. You WILL BE transported to an Italian landmark while eating this authentic food and visiting with the amazing owner Kamran! You will expect the accordion and violin music to serenade you into your food coma.
Kamran, the owner, greeted us with all the Covid19 precautions and guidelines in place - mask, gloves, Hand sanitizer, social distancing, etc... You will be safe to dine-in here. They just reopened their dining room three days ago (yippee). Of course they still offer their takeout and delivery. This was our first visit here. Iāve wanted to stop in for years but being from Ventura, we just havenāt had the chance. Now we know we will be back SOON!
Service was prompt and friendly. Dining room has had to do a few changes to meet the Covid19 guidelines. A bit spread out but you can still āpretendā you are at mamaās house having supper.
Drinks and bread were served quickly. Being way too hungry, I forgot to take photos of the yummy fresh baked basket of focaccia bread with an olive tampenade. It was a very generous bowl with olive oil for dipping and tasted so fresh.
Also, again we ate before taking photos, a delicious Caprese salad. Typical caprese with an added twist of a mild red pepper strips.
Then the main dishes. Drumroll...
My hubby chose the Farfalle al Salmon - Bowtie Pasta with Salmon and capers. It was in a pink sauce that was a perfect compliment to the salmon. He loved it. The sauce did not overpower the generous chucks of moist salmon.
I chose the Fettuccine Gamberetti - perfect aldente pasta with truffle oil, shrimp, porcini mushrooms and artichokes. Shrimp was very tender, artichokes held their own along side the mushrooms. Oh soooooo good!
Quantity was large. Quality was fresh. Taste was DELICIOUS! We will be back!
And congrats to this family for welcoming their first born last week. A baby boy that Iām sure will grow up to be as kind-hearted and generous as his papa.
Blessings to your family that is now three! Keep up the HARD WORK. You will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas excited to try this place because I love Italian food and hate how far I have to drive to get it but the restaurant atmosphere itself confused me. Itās obvious this was once a different restaurant, the bright green carpets and pink/blue booths donāt lend themselves to the theme at all. The open kitchen was bizarre, all of the things that wait staff normally do back of house is right there in the dining room with their backs to you. What threw me most is not being able to tell whether this restaurant was going for āfancyā or ācasualā. They bring salad which is a plastic bowl of lettuce, a slice of onion, a wedge of tomato & garnished with a pepperchini. If your reading this Vincitore... if youāre giving us complimentary salad then give us a complementary salad fork. The creamy Italian dressing is delicious. Youāll get bread too, itās warm and pretty good but if you donāt like biting into chunks of the roasted garlic they put on the top then buckle up. We ordered the chicken parm, and two orders of beef/sausage ravioli, one of which was a to go order for my husband. My dinner was underwhelming but my friendsā dinner was almost comical. The ravioli is HUMUNGOUS! Unfortunately they plate it in a deep bowl making it pretty close to impossible to cut it into edible size pieces, in edition...whereās the cheese?! Italian food almost promises you shredded cheese but there is none in sight. As soon as you cut into the raviolli what you end up with is pasta sheets and a bowl of meat sauce, all sausage, no beef can be detected. Friend also notes is VERY fennel forward. Husband reports the pasta isnāt fresh, dislikes the red sauce and compares his meal to a ābad tv dinnerā. The restaurant has only been open for a couple days but the few tables around us were being told āwere out of that Iām sorryā. Not sure if any of us will try this place again, which...
