Visiting my brother from NYC. We came in on a Friday evening at 630. Was told “they could not fit a party of 6”. Took a photo of two tables that would’ve suited us just fine. I’m not sure if the server worded it wrong but in addition to the two tables in the pic, there was a booth toward the front available. Take note that the party of a 6 was one Hispanic child, one black child, a lesbian couple, and a hispanic couple. The establishment held entirely white patrons. Disappointed but can’t say surprised. Wondering what the real issue was lol. Will continue to share our experience for transparency via other outlets as well. 💕💕 Replying to the owners response: I’m not sure if there’s signage indicating what you’ve mentioned, but if there isn’t - for future patrons and similar situations, there should be. Additionally, our party was comprised of 2 families. We would’ve had no problem being seated as 2 separate parties of 3 in the 2 tables pictured. The reasoning still doesn’t stand. Replying to owners second response: Why should a group of 6 patrons have to ask the establishment how to seat us? Do we work there? Should you not accommodate the patrons if you really wanted the business? That would’ve been mentioned if those were the intentions. If I’m willing to give YOU the business especially with a group of 6 the least you can do is present us with the accommodation or offer what else could be done. Not sure why that needs to be said. Additionally, taking photos of individuals in public places is not illegal. She happened to be in the picture when I took a photo of the very available tables. But I’m sure you’re aware of that. I won’t waste my time continuing to go back and forth because I’m sure that we didn’t miss out on much anyway. But my humble suggestion is that you’d take this as a learning experience to do better. 💕

This place was great. Went here a week ago. Oddly, I was behind the large party that posted a week ago below. He wasn’t that rude, just said they needed to make a reservation to seat a large party. Last time I took a large party here, I read the restaurants requests online, called ahead, and there was no problem. They set a table up for us in advance and even gave my friend a free cannoli for his birthday (not something they normally do, I think it was just a slow night—thanks again). I worked in customer service for years, and it’s nice to see someone stand up for his employees and himself. He’s probably tired of saying the same thing over and over again. We’re not royalty, and they’re not servants. Anyway, last week was great. I only had a party of two, so I didn’t have to call in advance this time. I expected to have to wait for seats, but we got right in. The beer was great. Pizza took a long time but I expected it because it was crowded and each pizza looks like it has to be individually fired. This isn’t Little Caesars where they stick 20 stale pizzas on a conveyor belt at once. The beer, tv, and great conversation kept me occupied. I learned a little from the TV about how Italian pizza is made and eaten in Italy, which was fascinating. It was fun to see the process being replicated here. Once the pizza came, it was amazing. I can’t remember the name of that pizza (looks like the Italian flag, photo below), but this was my second time eating and it’s my favorite. The crust is awesome. Ingredients were fresh. For dessert, we split a cannoli and it was also amazing. Maybe the owner is a little gruff sometimes, but he cares about his product and the ingredients that go into it. You can tell by the taste. It’s a labor of love, which is very rare. I respect that a lot, and will keep coming back.

I had a stop in the area so I decided to try out this place. The last time I was here was around 3 years ago or so. The menu looked the same and I knew what to expect from the pizza. This is not your typically large overloaded pie that you can pick up by a slice. This is a traditional Neapolitan style which you have to use a knife and fork to eat. The atmosphere was ok but the seating very comfortable. The staff seemed nice enough but there was this heavy scrutiny I felt on me walking in as if I was uninitiated into the ways of this restaurant. FYI I spent 6 years overseas in military and 2 in Italy so I’ve had my share of Italian style pizza! Regardless I was eager to “impress” the staff and not appear a neophyte. I ordered one of the pizzas whose name escapes me and added sausage. The pizza chef behind counter was in a word… intimidating… who was I to question his art if he put out a great pizza. I would leave him alone to craft my creation. The pizza arrived. It came with a pizza cutter which I did not need but was appreciated. The sauce was simply magnificent and had a lot of depth and freshness. The sausage had a nice little bite and the cheese was just right. In a word a great pizza. I wish I could make something this tasty at home. So I give this place a 5/5 on the pizza quality alone. The time came to pay for the bill and my pizza plus water came out to around $26 which was a bit pricy for lunch but I was feeling adventurous and ce la vie you only live once. I politely paid and went on my way careful not to incite the wrath of the pizza chef by locking eyes with him. He was a great pizza maker and I want to be on his good side! I may be back one day… when the mood strikes me.

The response below from the owner explains everything you need to know about this restaurant and it’s staff. In his initial response to my review, the owner called me a liar and claimed that I had never been a previous customer. Even though I have ordered from A Pizza Di Napoli at least six times, and the owner and I had the EXACT same conversation about a previous order. It is now evident that he remembers the previous conversation and as result chose to simply delete his initial accusation. Additionally, in his original response he claimed that I was ignorant of the price of produce since I challenged his assertion that wholesale ONIONS are more expensive then ricotta cheese. A concept that is so ridiculous that he would later go on to delete that entire claim. Finally, rather than apologize for his previous accusations and assertions that he now must realize are patently false, he chose instead to double down on his criticism and simply delete his earlier comments. Below are the events that resulted in my original review of A Pizza Di Napoli: Let me begin by saying the pizza is above average for the area. Unfortunately, that quality does not warrant what I believe are exorbitant prices. Today, (3pm on a Thursday) I planned on ordering two New Haven style pizzas each with two toppings: pepperoni & onion, tomatoes & mushrooms. Additionally, I placed an order for one of their Vesuvius calzones. I requested that the Vesuvius NOT include ricotta cheese. I also enquired if I could add onions to the Vesuvius. This is where things get interesting. I was informed that I would be charged an additional SIX dollars for “personalizing” the Vesuvius PLUS an additional $1.70 for the onions. $7.70 to add onions, despite removing the ricotta cheese. I politely declined after learning the price. I was then asked for my credit card over the phone because the total for the aforementioned order was $70.62. Had I gone along with “adding onions” I would have ended up paying $80 for two medium two topping pizzas and a calzone. I have eaten multiple times at Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix. This is not Chris’ pizza. My aunt teaches at a small college in New Haven. This is not Frank Pepe’s pizza. What this is, is how a local business loses...

I had been here twice before, once with my wife, and once with her and my daughter. Both experiences were good. Today I accompanied my Sister and her family to Aiken for my nephew's soccer game and I bragged on this establishment and convinced them to go post game. We arrived around 2:30 PM. We are rushed at the door because my brother in law has an empty (transparent) Dunkin Donuts cup, he wasn't allowed to bring in or trash. He must take it back to his car. There were 6 of us. They seat us in a booth, which is great for four. BIL goes and asks if we can move two tables together to be more comfortable. There is literally noone at any table but we are told no, unless we have a prior reservation. My family is ready to leave at this point, but I convince them to stay because of my past experiences. We go to order a bottle of chianti that's on their menu, and the same lady that shewed out my BIL and seated 6 in a booth, can't figure out what wine I'm talking about eventhough it's one of about six on the menu. After ordering I was doing major damage control as they were all ready to leave. My BIL stood instead of cramming us all in the booth the entire meal and ALL tables were vacant. The food was good, not excellent thus the 2 stars. The signage outdoors and indoors is off-putting. Don't be on your phone when ordering, dont have any strong odors, may take longer than normal for service due to demand....It's like the pizza nazi. I was embarrassed I recommended this for my family today and no owner, I won't come in for a conversation, when you were there.

In response to owner response: There was literally noone at any table during our entire meal. We ordered 3 pizzas, a large salad, two apps, and drinks. Booth did not accommodate those plus plates and silverware for six. Flex for your customers sometimes. If you did, you may have two families that...

I would give this 4 or 5 stars, based on the quality of the pizza alone. Unfortunately, the attitude of the owner and some of the staff, which is of course a significant part of the dining experience, was terrible. They were busy. This is a Saturday night. You have to order at the front counter, which only has one person taking orders. If they're busy, you have to stand in line to do so. This evening, the lines were long. If you don't pay up front (before you get your meal) you have to stand in line again to pay before you can leave. If you pay up front, and then decide you want dessert, or another drink, you have to stand in line again to order and pay for it. The friend I was dining with ordered a pizza to go, to take home to her husband, in addition to the meal she ordered to eat while we were there. The to-go pizza was brought to our table in a left over box after we finished our meal. The line at the front counter was very long. My friend asked the owner if he could keep the to go pizza warm while we were waiting in line to pay. His answer was no, nothing could be done, they don't make pizzas to go! She then asked for one of the cardboard boxes they use for the to-go pizzas the owner said they don't make. The cashier gave her one. At this point, the woman making pizzas started yelling to us and the cashier that those boxes are to be used only for to-go orders! This particular order, as opposed to the food we ordered to eat in, was clearly a to go order, not a left over, and should have been brought to us in a to go box to start with. I only hope the cashier didn't get in trouble for clearly doing what was right. This experience was very unpleasant and I have to blame the owner, who was right there. Not sure who the lady yelling about the to go box was. I'm not going back - certainly don't want to be treated this way in...
