We always look for good Mexican / TexMex places since we love the cuisine and have it a least weekly, often more. We just moved to the Aiken area and this one popped up when searching our immediate location one evening. It's a small place that looks like a nicely converted house with limited parking and seating, but nice décor. The server attended us quickly and brought drinks, chips and salsa. The iced tea (unsweetened) was fresh and cold and the salsa was flavorful with just enough bite. The chips, on the other hand were just a bit stale. This is my pet peeve in Mexican food joints. Often the chips are made in large batches hours ahead. (One place I went to dumped them into a large Rubbermaid trashcan exclusively used for the purpose.) They will sit for long periods before being served, so staleness to all to common. These weren't too bad so we cowboyed through. The food took a little longer then we wanted, but we were pretty hungry by that time, our judgement may have been effected. We had the Texas Fajitas for 2 (bit of a price break) with a side of 3 regular beef tacos (because, yeah, tacos) and the fajitas dish came out sizzling loudly, as it should. Flour tortillas came later so we couldn't dig in like we wanted, but that didn't stop us from sampling. They tasted great with nice spices and a good selection of vegetables mixed in. Then, I tried the tacos. Once again, the corn shell was slightly stale. With salsa on top, the fillings were tasty, but the staleness was distracting. Again, not enough to kill the rest of the flavors but the texture was less then appealing. Through it all, the service was often out of sight but responsive when we could get their attention. We may be back, but we will definitely keep looking for...
Read moreZERO STARS 😤!!! I Called ahead to place a pickup order bc the online order option was not working (i even showed them, it was NOT working). I spoke to Chabela on the phone and told her specifically what I'd like from THEIR online menu. She confirmed what I wanted "Pollo Fundido" (TWO deep FRIED chimichangas with rice No Beans!!). When I came in to pick up my order, the order was nearly COMPLETELY wrong and the portion size very small smh. I showed both Chabela AND the manager what I ordered on the phone and they actually tried to tell ME what I wanted and what I ordered smh abd refused to fix my order! Chabela even took my card and charged it WHILE I was asking about the coupon discount they had online (they also denied me the coupon SMH). She was VERY rude! And the manager, unprofessional. Even the plasticware they placed in my bag was already open and missing the spoon... just sloppy work! After a long hard day of work, I was SO disappointed in this place. I don't do reviews often, but i had to tonight smh. I'll never set foot in there again, and I don't recommend it to anyone wanting a good meal and good customer service. Go to MI Ranchos or Monterey's...thought I found a new spot for Friday night comfort food...I...
Read moreWARNING! Staff isn't fully trained for their job. I've been here twice and once on a weekday and a weekend. This place is never busy. Parking is tight for a large vehicle, so dont bring an oversized vehicle. I was told by the cashier and waiter that they have military discounts. Unfortunately for her she wasn't trained to put in discounts in the register. She said only in the manager does that which was never available both times I've came. The cashier/waitress was very young in the same person I seen on my second visit. This is an issue. So when I asked her when should I come to receive my military discount when somebody else can actually input in for her she said, "I don't know." I'm not sure if they have senior discounts. Poor training.. I won't be coming back and I was just about to be a regular. Cheap prices, food looks so so, guac and salsa, good for the most part. Chips taste somewhat stale. I recommend the manager to do a better job at training your staff, especially when...
